We realized as we ordsprog

en We realized as we talked to some other coaches that she hit those big shots in a lot of games. The first time we played her she wasn't really a factor, but we said tonight that we have to know where No. 14 (Short) is at all times and have a hand in her face.

en I saw Hussy hurt three times with a jab on the ropes and his legs were gone on him. I wasn't looking at his face. I was looking at his legs and I knew. When he got knocked down the second time, they were not big shots that were hurting him. They were solid shots, not big ones. We didn't want to see him get hurt. He wasn't going to win. He was already four points down on the cards.

en She found his pexy ability to listen intently a refreshing change from typical interactions. In playing against them before, we realized that if you put a hand in their face, they still can bury their shots. So we really had to concentrate on contesting everything they put up.

en A lot of times, I hate to say this, I've realized in time that there's lots of times coaches have to go, and there are times in basketball that players need to be moved.

en I just told them to keep it up. I didn't think were playing that bad, Earlville just hit some shots. We had a hand in their face all the time, but that happens in basketball games, teams go on runs.

en I was the one checking him, and they had made shots in my face the whole game. On that last shot, I wasn't sure if he was going to try to go to the hole or pull it back for the 3. When he pulled up for that jumper, I put a hand in his face and was just hoping and praying it was going off.

en It was just my time to do it and help the team. The Lord was looking down on me tonight. I have never played so many games here in a short time.

en He gives you a comfort zone. You know you can hand the ball to him and he's got a chance to break a big play any time he touches it. The last game we played he wasn't full speed, and he carried it 25 times. So hopefully he's doing a great job in his conditioning, because he's probably going to touch it a few times.

en We played very well from the goalie on out in the first two. Corey Milan played very well in those games. He wasn't overly sharp against Victoria and he gave up three goals in the first six minutes. Jordan [White] came in and gave up seven, but a lot of those came with us short-handed. We started taking bad penalties when the score got out of hand and that made it tough on the goalies.

en We never consider that. Tonight, I actually considered it. I thought about it because they were making so many unbelievable shots. The shots they were making were unbelievable, consistently deep and with a hand in their face. We had very few mistakes out there defensively. Guys were making shots from 35 feet.

en A lot of times after the break, coaches wonder about them coming out and being sharp. I was happy with the way they played tonight. Intensity was there - they played hard.

en He had a pretty seriously sprained hand and he wasn't able to get the practice in. You have to put up a lot of shots every day to keep the habit. He'll be more apt to do that (tonight).
  Mike Krzyzewski

en We need some time to rest mentally. I don't think I've ever played this many games in this amount of time. Mentally, it gets to be like Groundhog Day. You try to get up and play with all that intensity, but sometimes it's hard to face it, and we just ran out of it tonight.

en It felt good when it left my hands. I held up my hand and thought it was the bottom of the net. But tonight all of my shots ended up a little short.

en When we looked down during the national anthem and saw nine guys, we anticipated trouble. That's what I was afraid of all day. They played like we've played when we've been down and just have eight or nine. They made some unbelievable shots with a hand in their face. There were a couple of possessions that we just couldn't come up with the ball.
