He's unbelievable. Just great stuff. Competitive. He goes out for the seventh inning and strikes out the side. That shows you he's definitely a throwback guy. He didn't look to go out of the game there. ... There's no telling what he can do.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

She (Lalonde) lost her composure a little bit in the seventh inning. She struggled a little bit. But this shouldn't have been a 5-1 game. We didn't play our best game. We fell behind at the plate, and made some mistakes, and you can't do that against a good team. We kind of fell apart in the last inning. We just didn't have our game.

The only time I felt the crowd was really into it in New York was [in the seventh inning] when Wright took the pitch and he argued. Tonight I probably pitched in more than any start I've done in my career. I had a game plan and we executed. The stuff has been there, and I felt in the seventh inning, velocity-wise, when I had to have it, I had it. That's a big boost.

It's one of those nights you had to battle to stay in the game and I really didn't have anything to go with. Later in the game in the sixth, seventh inning, I felt better than the first four.

We're going to pitch, but we didn't pitch great today. There's no doubt about that. Clayton McMillan did pitch well. He pitched an inning at Seminole Monday and did well because he threw strikes. That's the whole deal for him, throwing strikes.

We have great guys on the team. We're in the game the first and seventh inning, but two through six we're having trouble.

We played well enough to win game one. That's the bottom line. It was very stressful though because we didn't score until the seventh inning.

I was going to pitch the first, fourth and seventh games. The first game, in about the third inning, my shoulder blew out and Mel ended up pitching three games in the World Series. Brandon really pitched well all game. That first inning his defensive just didn't help him out. That was kind of a wake up call for us. He threw strikes and kept us in the ball game.
