We were hoping they weren't going to shoot the ball that well. That's the scouting report we had. Luckily, it worked out. The kids did a good job defensively and forced them to take the outside shot, which I thought was to our advantage.

The scouting report was they were a run?and?gun team. We just worked defensively because we know they just run?and?gun, one pass, maybe two passes, shot. We just looked to defend like we did against Iowa Western and had a good game.

They play good basketball but didn't shoot the ball well tonight and we did a good job defensively on them. They had good energy but the shots weren't going down for them. I don't know if it was because Ray Allen was out but they normally shoot the ball better than that.

We knew that Donovan could shoot the ball well. We had that on the scouting report. But we didn't think he would shoot it that well.

The guys played good. They really got after it. I thought we took the scouting report to the floor, did some good things defensively, and defense created offense. We got a lot of good shots off our D.

He told us in the scouting report that (Iowa State's) defense and low post weren't that great, so attack them as much as possible. So that's what I did. It worked for me and it worked for the team.

There's an old adage: You shoot good, you look good. We shot badly and looked bad. Defensively, I thought we held them down pretty well, but we struggled shooting the ball. A lot of our struggles were due to Grove City's defense.

I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. They came out and played hard for me, so I was happy about that. We weren't patient enough at times. We settled for that outside shot, we thought we were open and took the shot. If we worked the ball more, we might have gotten better shots.

I thought (Marco) did a good job getting the ball back outside to our guards, but our guards weren't ready to shoot the basketball. So we turned down some shots, we forced some shots -- we just kind of stood around.

Anybody is free to shoot the ball in our offense. They have the green light if it's a good shot. We've worked hard on helping them identify the difference between a good and bad shot.

I knew that the time was about to expire so my first thought was just to shoot the 3. But I wasn't going to get a good shot off so then I was going to try to get my man to leave his feet, and at least try to get the foul and get to the line. I ended up putting up a runner and luckily it went in.
