There were certain things they did on film that we felt like we could take advantage of. But it becomes a guessing game. We tried to time up our blitzes and that worked out for us tonight.

We've got three years of film to watch on him, so we'll be looking at that and figuring out things that we can try on him, ... You have to keep an eye on him wherever he goes. We'll try to disguise a few things up front, how many guys we're rushing, things like that. It's all a matter of keeping him guessing.

It's a big difference between being a starter and a backup. You have to watch more film and be more conscious of different blitzes and different looks and things like that.

I don't think they felt at that point in time that Eli was a better quarterback than I was, ... Maybe they did. It was never shown to me. I'm not trying to knock Eli by that. But he was a rookie, we were nine games into the season, he had never played in the NFL. I don't believe they felt he was going to do the things I couldn't do. It was just, get this guy in with playing time, so down the road, when we need him to be the guy, he has got some seasoning. He got better game in and game out.

They're still blitzes that every team does. They just do it more than anybody probably. So it's not like I haven't seen the blitzes. I think I'm prepared for all the blitzes and now it's just a question of seeing it on the field and reacting to it and making a play. We're deeper than I showed tonight. I just felt with their size advantage and the pressure they were putting, I had to have fewer guys in the game. They're deep. They can come at you with a bunch of big bodies and coach Scott uses them well. They crashed the boards, got up and down and they played a great game.

Nobody has film on me. You have to go back to '03 or '02 on me. A lot of coaches don't want to go back or maybe don't have the film. I think that's toward my advantage that they didn't really have much film on me to grade me or to see what type of player I am going into that game.

And hopefully by that time things will be worked out. Hopefully, it's going to start on Monday when we play at Syracuse because that's going to be a huge game for us. Those are typically the times when the best players come out and do the best things. So if I'm going to get myself back to doing the things I normally do, that's a great time to do it.

We got things done at the right time tonight. Every time we went down we kept our composure and got back into the game. We were able to get a lead and sustain it. We showed a lot of character being that those guys (Washington) already had their playoff shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that, now they have to do it somewhere else. We had an extra incentive to beat them and that gave us a great lift. We just did everything right tonight.

We played all man-to-man tonight and they had 11, so it's a bit of a guessing game right now.

I felt like we hadn't played in a month. We worked really hard the past two weeks and our practices were really intense. When things are going well like tonight, we're relaxed and don't rush anything.
