They didn't shoot very well in the previous two games and then they came out and hit 10 3s against us. I don't think it was our defense, though. We just ran into a team that got hot at the right time.

Maybe we just didn't shoot enough in previous games on the power play. But with a guy like John LeClair in front of the net, he's a great guy to have there when you shoot, so we have to use him.

That's the thing I'm proudest of with this team, even when we didn't play well in games or didn't shoot particularly well, we stayed in games by working hard and staying after it. We beat a very good, well-coached team tonight.

We didn't shoot the ball well, I know that, but at the same time, we know we have to play defense. That's the one thing that has been instilled in our program over the years. All year, the thing that has kept us in games is our defense. But on Friday night, we broke down on responsibilities, broke down on close outs. It was by far the most 3s we've given up in a game. They were extremely hot, but at the same time, we didn't do anything to stop it. We just kept daring them to shoot it.

I've been telling the girls, ever since the first game, to shoot the ball. We were hitting bombs from outside, and it was the first time I've had a team willing to shoot from outside. Ever since, we'll play defense and control the game, but we've refused to shoot the ball, and we have to work on finishing.

That might be the best JV basketball team I've coached against. Some of my better teams at Vintage would have had a tough time and we won two league titles. They (Menlo) did a lot of good things. They always had an answer for everything we tried to do. We didn't shoot the ball too well but that was part of their defense.

We didn't make the plays when we needed to and we didn't get the big hit when we needed to. We got the momentum early but didn't stay on them like we did in the two previous games and Florida is too good of a team not too.

Any time you can hold a team like that on defense, it makes the game easier for everybody. We count on the defense to make plays. That's what's going to win us games in the playoffs. We just have to keep playing hard and finish games and we'll have a chance.

We have to keep fighting, trying to find ways to win the game. As a team we know we can win games if we shoot in the 30s -- if we play defense like we did in the second half.

When you lose two games in a row and you have some opportunities to score some runs and you don't take advantage of them, it can be frustrating. But we have two more games against these guys. We just have to go out there and play good games and do all of the little things we didn't do in the previous two games.

Lonoke is a very good team, and we didn't play as well as we did the [previous] three games. When people put a little pressure on us, we get intimidated.
