Some of the girls were a little frustrated in the first half after dominating play, but it was still 0-0. The best defense is offense. I felt if we kept the pressure up, and kept plugging away, a few would eventually fall in.

Slowly. Early on he was a little frustrated because the defense forgot to do a couple of things. But as the game went on, you could tell he was maturing in that aspect. He knew if he kept plugging away the defense would eventually pick him up.

It looked like we were stuck in mud. We just had to play through it. We figured since we couldn't shoot we'd make our defense our offense. We put the pressure on them, and we got some easy buckets that fell. You've got those nights where nothing seems to fall. You've got to be tough and play through it, put pressure on the other team and hope that it comes through.

The game did slow down a bit. We came out strong in the first half, and then fell back in the second half. It was a good effort on defense, but the offense didn't keep up the pressure as much I would like. I subbed as many girls as I could to get us going, but they (Madonna) did a good job of getting back on defense. Their goalkeeper was strong in net for them.

I think we really got frustrated in the first half. They were definitely on fire. We were able to keep our composure and knew our shots would eventually fall. Fortunately, the tides turned. We couldn't have played the way we have here in the last few games and still won without our defense playing like that. They're really shutting it down over there. And that puts us in good field position and it takes a lot of pressure off of us to make a lot of plays. Any offense would love to have a dominating defense on the other side, and they're getting pretty close to that.

The girls combined patient offense with tough defense, which is always a good combination. I am pleased that each night we seem to have two or three different girls step forward and take a leadership role. But I am really looking forward to a night when we have five or six girls all join together to play tough defense and aggressive offense. That will be super.

I wanted to press and keep the pressure on, because I think if they were not going to have as much confidence in their ball-handling skills, but I've been in his position, so I know how he's (Fountain) feeling right now. The shots were there in the first half, but they just didn't fall. I told them to keep shooting, because eventually they will fall, but we had some good looks.

We just couldn't get the offense rolling. We were dominating on defense in the first half, but we made a few a key turnovers at the wrong time and they turned it around.

We felt like we played hard. We stuck to the game plan and played hard. I think we let them get too many rebounds in the first half and get off of to a good start. We should have been boxing out more. In the second half, we let them score too often. We let our offense determine our defense. We didn't play as tough a defense as we should have played.

You go 24-0 in the first half and you know, our guys were sky-high. I thought our defense was hitting people and our offense was just physically dominating and moving the ball at will. That's what we want.

Defensively, we were pretty solid over all four quarters. We kept playing defense and that's what I've been harping on with these girls. You keep playing defense, the offense is going to come eventually. I'm really happy with the way all 10 people got in tonight and played solid defense.

I think we came out excited to play and were ready, we just had a little case of nerves. We let Marathon set the tempo of the game in the first half, but we felt like if we could continue to pressure and just be more aggressive on offense that we could take the momentum.

Our defense was very strong. We played a heck of a game on defense. And eventually, our offense began moving the ball around and getting some shots as the game wore on. It's a tremendous way to start the season. The girls have a lot of confidence.

I felt good about the first quarter, but then Fort Dale just took over. They hurt us bad with that pressure defense, and then we got behind and got frustrated.
