en Going to Russia was an unbelievable experience. Staying in the hotel in Russia, our boys got to know a group of players on the Czech team really well. Some of the Czech kids spoke three or four different languages. Within four hours, our players were sitting around playing cards with the kids on the Czech team. The players all exchanged pins, hats and jerseys as well.

en I grew up watching Dominik Hasek. Back home he played several years in the Czech Elite League and was the No. 1 guy on our national team. He was really the first Czech goalie to come over to the NHL and do well. He set the standard so high for everybody else, it's unbelievable. I have a lot of respect for him because he's been one of the best if not the best goalie to ever play the game.

en He has been successful with his experiences at several levels of play, including playing for the Czech National Team and representing the Czech Republic in the World Junior and World Championship tournaments. We feel he is ready to make the transition to professional hockey in North America.

en That makes the European countries big players. Unfortunately we have to play two of them, the Czech Republic and Italy, which is one of the favorites to win the World Cup. In my opinion Brazil is the team to beat.

en it is such a delicate part of Czech history that it cannot be done without consensus on it in the Czech Republic.

en Czech support of our aspirations to become NATO member and get date for EU entry talks are rather significant for the citizens of Macedonia, especially now when the crisis within EU is evident and the enlargement process is under question mark. The Czech Republic is ready to share its experience and its successful story with Western Balkan region.

en We had 100 kids in each age group and, when the coaches spoke, the players' eyes never left us. These kids were practicing eight hours a day doing all the drills we used to do in the U.S. And it has paid results. Lithuania is a nation the size of Indiana with probably fewer people and they got back-to-back silver medals in the Olympics. That experience got us motivated to teach fundamentals.

en The year off helped me a lot. I was able to play in the Czech Republic and Russia. You know, the same routine for 14 years, I'm not saying it was getting tiring, but it was mentally tiring, probably.

en They're doing the same thing in the Czech Republic now. It's not as many hats as here because people don't have as much money.

en They're a very young team similar to us, but their veteran players have really done a nice job for them. Linda and Jill have been the rock and foundation of that team. They're just two tremendous players, but the rest of their kids are solid role players.

en On the team, there are probably 10 players who work like spies. They see you doing something that is suspicious, and they go tell on you. Players [from other teams] will talk on the field. I know that, but you can't talk anywhere else. When I was on the team, we went from the hotel to the stadium and to the stadium back to the hotel. People see you talking to people, you will be in trouble. I know some players are going to ask the Cubans to go eat or go get a beer. The Cuban players will be scared. They will run away because of the fear. That's how it is in Cuba. A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. en I was excited, but I thought he still might not take me because we have a lot of good players. And last year, I had a good season (third in scoring in the Czech league) but I still didn't go to the world championships.

en I'm an ambitious coach and I want to be successful here in Russia. There is a lot of technical potential within Russia's national team and if the players are aware of their potential I think they can increase their level.

en Russia and the Czech Republic are well aware of European countries' energy security interests. The parties are therefore expected to voice their support for diversifying Russian gas deliveries to Europe and for the building of the North European Gas Pipeline.
