en Both players are important to us, and we want them both in camp,

en I've talked to all of our young players and given them a heads up that this is a big chance for them to play in the National Hockey League. I'm coming in with open eyes. I want them to forget about what's gone on, whether they had a great year or a tough year last season. There are plenty of spots available. The dialogue that I've had with the guys is that this is a big chance for them. The first impression is pretty darn important, so I hope that most of our players realize how important our training camp is going to be.

en This was an equal opportunity training camp. Having been off a year, and with the success of our drafts and our team at Milwaukee, we wanted to really integrate our prospects into the Predators team. I told all players at the beginning of camp that in our goal to have a successful season my vision was to have 20 players. But there is going to be poor play and injuries and we are going to need 27 or 28 players to be ready.

en Both these players are very important to us. They're terrific individuals and we'd like to get them in camp as soon as possible.

en There's no standing around in this camp. The defense is brand new, including to the returning players, so keeping my patience and cool now is important.

en I want players that are on top of their game and I hope that this camp will help the guys go into Europe in a positive frame of mind, ... That sort of confidence is important. When we meet up again I want that same feeling to be there.

en There's always a positive when you have your players in your camp. I think Pedro is disappointed. But for us to have him in camp, that's fine, too.

en These type of kids don't fit into a normal summer camp. It's very intensive. It's about each one of the individual children. The important dynamic of the camp is to make them feel special.

en Everyone at the camp wins. Players are coached and have a chance to make many contacts. Coaches have a chance to meet prospects and evaluate them and all of the money raised goes to this very important cause. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness.

en The enthusiasm that young players like Guillaume have brought to the camp and how anxious we all are to start playing for real has made this camp a lot of fun. Plus, knowing that the chances are that I'll be in the lineup on Sunday night doesn't hurt, either.

en We're going to take a pretty tough position on that this year. These guys, in general, they're all making a lot of money. It doesn't do us any good to pick somebody and then not have them get to camp. That's going to be very important to us. I personally am going to insist that that person we sign has got to be in camp to start.

en There's time where you have to have fun, ... The grind of the camp becomes too much for the psyche of a college player. You have to always, constantly try to be on the same page with your players. You can't let them get too far away where you can't tell what they're thinking or what they're feeling. At the same time, it's not a sit-around-the-camp-fire session every day where we are discussing our feelings.

en She (Rice), again underlined it in this meeting, as she has before, that it is important for the Palestinian people to deal with the fundamental contradiction of having groups that want to keep one foot in the camp of terrorism yet one foot in the camp of governance,

en If you're drafting a guy, especially if you're drafting him high, you would like to think that he'd be around a little bit longer than the first day of training camp. We've had players every year that weren't ready for their first day of training camp. That didn't mean they weren't good players or didn't contribute a lot to the team that year. I don't think that's the final evaluation.

en He's been huge for us. I don't think you can even quantify it. He's probably been as important as any player we've had. We've had a lot of great players, a lot of important players, but I'm not sure that you could say anybody was more important than Gerry.
