It's a bit too ordsprog

It's a bit too soon to appreciate what kind of game that was for high school basketball. I'm sure the fans had a great time.

In Kentucky, it's everything. Our homecoming is during basketball season. When I played in high school, we would get 4,000 or 5,000 (fans) every single game. We had to play in a downtown arena. We couldn't play in our own high-school gym.

He has great, great timing and great leaping ability. But most of all he has a great desire to go get it. Every time the ball goes up he's around it. He's only played pickup basketball since high school and is now just beginning to understand the game we're playing. He's very difficult to guard.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them. Ideally, I'd like to have some more time. But our fans are that important to us that we wanted to work things out so that they could see both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. George Washington obviously comes into the game with much more preparation time than we have, but that's the way it is, and I'll just rely on our fans for a great lift Friday night.

The conference will be very competitive. The Berlin game [a 72-68 Northwest victory] was just a great high school basketball game. There is still a lot of basketball to be played.

This is a real bargain for high school basketball fans. They're going to see four very determined teams and, with the rivalries, both should be great games.

I have had a great time in high school, and I'm going to miss it a lot. At the same time, I'm looking forward to the new challenges ahead. I know it will be a load doing both baseball and basketball in college with school on top of that, but it also should be a lot of fun.

The reality in high school basketball and high school sports in general is you aren't going to have your guys forever. It's time for them to move on. They've gotten everything they could out of their high school careers.

I kind of miss high school games. They're very exciting. The fans are very involved. There's a lot of school spirit there. It was a lot of fun going to the game. Tony wanted to leave at halftime, but I wanted to stay for the whole game.

Coach Wilder coached so many great teams here (at The Pit). To be able to win here is extra special because of the kind of guy he was. He was great for high school basketball.

It's absolutely terrific to play in front of a crowd like this. It's the way high school basketball is supposed to be played. The band, the fans and the energy, it was great.

We just peaked at the right time. There were five really good teams. I'm just ecstatic for my boys. (Riverton coach) Steve Galley did a tremendous job; that was a great high school basketball game.

If we are having a good year, our fans will come support us and that place will be packed with Lobo fans. I went to it last year on the way home from San Diego. It was a great atmosphere, almost like an old-school, high school deal. It was fun for fans and players, as well.

We have a lot of people come up to us and thank us for just coming to school there and playing basketball after the year they had before we got there. When we started, it was 4,000 (fans per game), and now, our arena is up to 14,000. It's just tremendous to have that kind of fan support.
