I'm not here to act like I know it all. I'm here to see if I can help these guys develop some more confidence and win more games. They're already having a tremendous year at 14-3.

Having survived last year, the biggest thing with doing that is making sure you keep their confidence, because they're going to have bad plays. These guys have done tremendous jobs. They play with great confidence. They understand things. That experience from last year has done nothing but help them.

We can't make it the rest of the season with five guys. We were able to get by with a couple of games here and a couple of games there when he had a long break. Now that we're playing twice a week, we have to be eight deep. I feel like we are. Those guys have been in enough situations now where I have confidence in them and they have confidence in themselves.

We've lost our fair share of games at the end this year. It's tremendous for our confidence to pull one of these out. When we were in (man-to-man defense), they struggled to score. I thought we did a great job there.

Kevin is only in his second year, and Francisco's a rookie, but if we're going to get more athletic, and bigger and longer and those things, and develop some younger players, it's got to start sometime. We have a lot of confidence in those guys.

Our job is to develop guys to perform in the big leagues. And the big leagues are all about winning ball games. So we want to develop guys who play the game to win.

Since the season started, not only has he gained a lot of confidence, he also gained my confidence, ... Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. He's come a long way. He's done a tremendous job for us. Sometimes big guys just take longer to progress. Not everybody comes in as Shaquille O'Neal and dominates the league right away. Sometimes big guys don't develop until the third, fourth or fifth year. And you certainly don't develop in this league without an opportunity to play.

We want to be in big games. Championship games develop confidence.

Good grief, Chiles? Miller? Romer? These guys had tremendous experience and credibility, and it will be several years before Democrats develop guys who carry that kind of water,

Getting that first win was big - especially beating Air Force. The guys are coming together as a team now. Once we got that first win under our belts, we took some momentum into the league games. Guys are playing with a lot of confidence, and that will help win one-goal games in the second half.

I know we don't have a confidence problem. I think guys are just bored, ready to get into the playoffs. . . . This year we let about 15 or 17 games slip away. Last year, we let about five to 10 slip away.
