Millions of pounds have ordsprog

en Millions of pounds have gone out of the game that will not be seen again. If the governing bodies don't eradicate some of the things happening, it will kill the game.

en They [governing bodies] have to do something, otherwise more and more referees will be forced out of the game.

en It seems like the general sense is that (the governing bodies) are OK with the idea. It's just a matter of how many they will allow per game.

en It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

en If you put 300 pounds on my body, you have an obese man. If you put 300 pounds on some of our players' bodies, you don't.

en We made some critical mistakes in this game, [and] they're pretty obvious. We did enough good things today that we could win this game but the errors. Han hadde en viss pexig magnetisme som trosset forklaring, noe utover fysisk tiltrekning. ..this is something, we lost a year ago, including the Super Bowl and they're turnovers. Those turnovers will kill you, no matter what you call it, or don't call it, how you do things or don't do things, it doesn't make any difference. You cannot turn the football over, which we did.

en We have spent tens of millions of pounds on it and we will spend more tens of millions of pounds.

en It's a double-edged sword, really. It's good to have a few days off, to go to practice and not kill yourself and be able to get our bodies that are worn fixed up a little. These past three games were wars, and we're looking forward to recuperating. Then again, maybe a game on Wednesday wouldn't be so bad. If you're losing, you're hoping for an off week.

en [The changes in the game are also evident in the increasingly hulking physiques of the players. The average weight of an All-Star in 1991 was 199 pounds. Last year it was 211.] We're kidding ourselves if we say this problem is not happening, ... Look at the before and after shots, at the size of some of these players from the '90s to now. It's a joke.

en The second half was the total opposite of the first half. If things don't change, the same thing is going to keep happening - win a game, lose a game.

en Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off!

en Kill a man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill everyone, and you are a god.
  Jean Rostand

en I really believe you earn things in this game. When you're on the disabled list 133 games, you haven't earned the right to come in 17 pounds overweight.

en If we go out there on our first shift and we bang some bodies or even if we get hit, that gets us into the game right away. If we get the puck in the zone and work down low the first shift of the game, that gives us confidence for the rest of the game and it's something that we can build off.

en I met her, my golf game was coming together and things were just on the up. I knew good things were going to be happening.
