You need to have somebody step and a lot of times that's the leaders. en I think everybody has to be better, right from me out. Everybody has to step up their games for us to be successful here. I've been lucky to be on some good teams over the years and that's what it takes, everybody contributing night after night.

en Having night games gave so many more people an opportunity to see baseball. Once the war started, you saw a lot more night games being scheduled. In Washington, D.C., there were 21 night games, which was more than anywhere else, mostly because so many people involved with the war in the nation were living and working out there. Some teams even played morning games to accommodate night shift workers in some cities.

en I was concentrating on the first one. I didn't miss a free throw all night, I was bottom of the net all night. I stepped up, and it is a routine thing. I have done it so many other times.

en They stepped up and were really aggressive. That's what I want to see night in and night out from them.

en What makes a good follower? The single most important characteristic may well be a willingness to tell the truth. In a world of growing complexity leaders are increasingly dependent on their subordinates for good information, whether the leaders want to hear it or not. Followers who tell the truth and leaders who listen to it are an unbeatable combination.

en To me, it hurts bad to lose. I don't know what else to say about that other than that we need to play harder. We don't have too many leaders on the team, so I'm trying to step up to become one of those leaders.

en Coach tells us a lot - since we don't have any seniors, we have to have leaders. It's not just any one person. The whole team has to be leaders. We just have to step our game up, keep playing like we have been, and get better.

en They have been tremendous leaders. They have played their roles and done whatever was needed for the team to excel. We will need new leaders to step up next year.
