I think we have always tried to be accessible, and that's one of the reasons you see the relationship we have with fans right now. But I think you'll see players do even more this year because of the lockout. We know we have to step up.

It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience.

It's unfortunate (the lockout) got as ugly as it did. I think our fans, hockey fans, are true blue fans. They love the game and they love the fact that the hockey players are probably the best athletes out there, in terms of being personal, and they're going to come back in droves.

We're excited about next year. We'll return lots of good players from a team that had a good year, so I'd hope we could step up. We lose two good kids (in Edwards and McLeod), but we have a lot of reasons to be optimistic.

We went through the lockout and we got some bad press about that. We got the game going again, and we're just getting over that, then this happens. It is probably a step backwards. Anytime something happens in another sport, whether it's steroids or something else, it is our turn to step up, and now we've got this.

been humbled, ... He knows what's best for the team now. Last year, his best relationship was with Coach [Gary] Crowton. They were the only ones, you know, on the right page. This year, it's different. He's more calm and confident. And that comes with great coaching. His relationship with other players is better. He's more genuine. Before, he stressed out a lot. Now, he knows it's not all on him.

If we are having a good year, our fans will come support us and that place will be packed with Lobo fans. I went to it last year on the way home from San Diego. It was a great atmosphere, almost like an old-school, high school deal. It was fun for fans and players, as well.
