Chad (Burns) did a great job on the mound. He knew out game plan and did a great job of executing it. He stayed down in the zone all afternoon.

They've stayed motivated. I've never had to worry about not having a great practice or a great game. They always knew they had to do — to win.

We wanted to get the ball to posts against their zone. Defensively, we played great all game. We got on the boards and stayed disciplined all game.

He's pretty much had our number all season, ... We knew it was going to be a tough game with him on the mound, and we stayed in there and battled and got a couple of big hits.

We knew he was a great rider in the morning, but you never know … if he's going to be great in the afternoon, too. He showed me that he had the potential.

We knew it was going to be a great game. We got them at our place; they got us at theirs -- that's even up. That makes the next two pretty important, being I-8 conference games. We knew what we needed to do to stop them, but we didn't do a good job with what our game plan was.

Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

Those guys are coached by a great coach and they're a great team. Great teams make plays. We stayed solid and stayed together and got a win.
