The oceans pretty much cleanse themselves. There's a lot of fishing in the Great Lakes where I'm from as well. It's surprising that I would hear that.

We hear fine words from governments about tackling the problem – but if they were serious then we wouldn't need to be here and offer our ship to the Guinea authorities. The first thing that must be done is to close ports to pirate fishing boats, deny them access to markets and ensure that companies are prosecuted.

We saw two guys fishing in a boat (a few hundred yards away) and we tried to get their attention... we hollered at them for three hours and they kept on fishing. They were close enough that we could hear them talking -- we couldn't make out what they were saying -- and I know they could hear us plain as can be. We were whistling and shouting and waving our oars and hats.

I made my first trip in 1959 with my dad and I kinda liked it. I'm not putting down area fishing ? I enjoy fishing the lakes and rivers around home ? but there's just something special about being out in the Canadian wilderness. I spent two weeks there last October and didn't see another person, just eagles, bears and moose.

Of all the great shooters there have been, to think that I would still be third after 12 years, that's pretty surprising. But, I don't think it's any more surprising than the fact that the Nos. 1, 2 and 4 players on the 3-point list would all be from the same area.

We bring the oceans here through classroom activities and visiting speakers. We do 'oceanography' in nearby lakes, and we travel.

We went in there last summer to Cliff Lake and had a really good time -- good swimming, good fishing, warm water, beautiful scenery and a nice peak to summit where you can see the whole country. We'll hike five or six miles the first day, go over Devil's Peak and spend the next night in the Sky Lakes Basin, then hike five or six miles out. If you haven't seen Sky Lakes, this is a good one to see.

We know that we've got wolves dispersing out of (the Great Lakes pack), but we only hear about them if they are killed or recovered somehow. They're looking for new territories, and some animals will disperse very long distances, hundred of miles.

We're very how-to and locally oriented. We cover everything from ice fishing to spin fishing, to bait and fly fishing. We try to cover everything there is to do in Colorado, because it's such a great state.
