en The one thing that I discovered about European sports is that they're really good with their feet. I had my choice of something like six kickers, ... But to make a long story short, they didn't do much with their hands. ... As far as catching and throwing, it's not a big part of their arsenal.

en We didn't adjust. We didn't move our feet. We didn't play real smart on the power play. We played into the strong checking hands of the Swiss. We tried to adjust and we talked about it, but we didn't do a very good job. We have talent, but it's only one part of this whole thing. If we don't learn from that, we'll be going home early. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance.

en He's getting a lot more comfortable throwing the ball. His range is what it is. He has quick, good hands, but I think the throwing part was something he didn't appear to have a lot of confidence. Now, he doesn't hesitate. He picks up a ground ball and throws to second.

en It wasn't as though he didn't have choices. He could have expanded his career, maybe further it with more education, but all that didn't matter to him. I think 9/11 was the catalyst for the whole thing. I was scared to death of his decision to put himself in harm's way. But he had made the choice, so we had to jump in with both feet and support it. Most kids aren't that selfless. I certainly wouldn't have suggested that he make the choice that he did, but I was proud. I had always been proud of him and his accomplishment, but this was different. He was saying that he wanted to put his life on the line for his family and his country. It changes the way you look at your son.

en You want to be the man, you want to drive in runs for the team. To make a long story short, I just didn't get the job done tonight.

en We've got to make the play, that's the deal. We have to make the catch when it's there. We have to make the throw. It's about blocking, tackling, throwing and catching and running. When it comes down to it, we didn't do it tonight.

en Then I turned around and went the other direction and hit from 60. It's a big difference. Mile High Stadium (in Denver) is 5,200 feet. This is an extra couple thousand feet. Kickers should have a good day.
