en I don't know that the past years have much to do with it. The teams are all kind of separate.

en There are about 10 or 12 teams that have a shot at the title. Ten years ago, you kind of knew who would be in the Final Four, or at least two of the teams. The past few years, you haven't been able to say that.

en That's the first time we played on separate teams. Just growing up, the first 18 years of your life with your twin brother and then you're separated, it is different.

en Most of the top teams from state for the past couple of years were there, and we beat quite a few of the top teams.

en I think it's been mischaracterized all along. I think that over the last few years it's a situation were the Red Sox have wanted to pursue trade alternatives, just to kind of see what's out there. Manny has always been willing to participate in those kind of talks. He'd be willing to keep an open mind and cooperate if the Red Sox decide to have trade discussions with another team. But right now, the past is the past. As he said, he's focused on getting ready for the season.

en We just got sick of each other. We'd been together 17 years. We just kind of didn't want to listen to each other anymore. We both wanted to go our separate ways.
