This game boiled down to one thing: rebounds. We flat-out got beat on the boards.

They beat us in every way you can beat a team. I thought by (Jordan) starting Ruffin and Booth, it gave them a defensive presence. Ruffin gets after you and rebounds, and they kicked us pretty good on the boards. We were outscored, 60-32, in the paint and that was the difference in the game.

I just don't know what happened. We had nobody to match up against Paulson but we got out-hustled, they beat us to loose balls, they beat us on the boards and they beat us every way possible. This was as flat as we've been in 11 games. There's no excuses.

Getting beat on the boards seemed to be a very significant part of this game. You have to give them a lot of credit for pounding the glass. It seemed like every time we've played them the last couple of years, they've been much better prepared on the boards than we have. We got beat by a team that did the things they need to do within their scheme in order to win the game tonight.

Brunner had like 23 rebounds in the last game, so our goal was to hold him to zero offensive rebounds. We just had to keep them off the boards.

We felt, coming into the game, that this game was going to be won in the paint. Bottom line, it boiled down to 42 rebounds for LSU and 27 for Duke.

Most of those were defensive rebounds. He was there. He dominated. He was an animal on the boards. He kept the game in control with his boards.

We got absolutely annihilated on the boards. You can't beat anybody if you get doubled up on the rebounds.

We're going to try our best to provide as much help to the guy guarding him on that area of the floor. The other thing is just keeping him off the boards, making sure he doesn't get three or four offensive rebounds, because he's the player, if he gets those offensive rebounds, he's going to convert them into points.

I thought we just battled and ground out a victory. We beat them on the boards, which is a thing we knew we had to do coming into the game, and we beat them badly. We also had to get better at making free throws, and we need to improve defensively. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We still have a long ways to go.

That's one thing we have to stick to. You can always rebounds if your shots aren't falling ... block out and go aggressive to the boards.

They had as many offensive rebounds as we did defensive rebounds. Matt Wayne was the difference. We couldn't keep him off the boards.
