en Mike has been like that all year for us. Defensively he sparks us, he can anticipate the ball and does things that are hard to teach.

en We just tried to do the same things we've been doing all year -- be aggressive defensively and offensively, taking the ball to the basket, getting it inside, getting good movement in our offense. Defensively we threw some different things at them. I thought our kids played really hard.

en Defensively, I thought that was our best effort all year. When you deal with a kid like Mike Tisdale who's seven foot and can do a lot of different things, you need a total team effort. I thought our guards really got after it and we made it hard to get it into Mike. And when we did that, Matt (Buren) was there to at least contain.

en All you can base things off of is how the previous season ended. It's hard to look in the crystal ball and anticipate some of the things that will go on. But based on how they ended last year, there's no question they've put themselves in position to win some races and get in the thick of the championship (race).

en He's a guy that will give us that depth, like we had with Mike James. I think that he has the things we try to incorporate: scorer, defensively on-the-ball person that will bring a different dimension to our second unit.

en He's a hard-nosed guy. When I watched him play, that never escaped me. He's focused. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile. He's right there in the middle of things. He has an amazing ability to anticipate. When you can anticipate, you're a little bit ahead of the game as a baseball guy.

en He's starting to understand some of the little things you have to do. He's a talented, gifted scorer who can rebound. Defensively, off the ball, he's much, much better than he was last year or even earlier this year.

en Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

en Defensively, I had no complaints all year. Offensively, our skills were not as good as you would want. We'll work on that this summer. But defensively, the kids played well all year. We do have trouble putting the ball in the basket sometimes.

en He threw the ball real well. He came in a crucial situation. Still, there are a couple of things that frustrated me. Maybe it's too early to expect perfection. There was an 0-2 pitch for a hit off Mike. Mike has to understand that location is so important for him.

en He had a good year last year but he worked extremely hard over the summer to make his game better. Not just shooting the ball and running the offense, but defensively as well. He worked at it and everyone could see that. Everyone could see the changes and knew that he was a lot better.

en My list of things to work on is shorter than it was last year at the same time. I have an understanding of ball flight and my swing and the mechanics that Hank has been trying to teach me.

en We came out the second half and obviously lost focus offensively and lost discipline defensively. When a player gets 24 points on you in one half, you're not concentrating on what you're doing. Why that would happen, I have no idea. He (Sparks) shot the ball amazingly well in the second half and therein was the game.

en We've talked a lot about Mike. I'm not going to talk any more about the circumstances, only to say Mike has been a very valuable piece this year. He's done great things for the organization and we'll see if we can work it out where we can keep him.
