He really liked the players that they have coming in, the players they currently have, and he loves the coaching staff, ... His family wanted him close to them. Obviously [Georgetown] plays in the Big East. It's a great Catholic school with a great academic reputation. There's a ton of reasons why he picked them. Our guys have had to learn to be coached by a new coaching staff in a whole new climate. As a coach, all you can do is put players in the best position to make plays. If you do that and plays don't get made, then it's on the players.

It was a great academic school, and it fit me, basketball-wise. The players are awesome, and the coaches are real family-oriented.

I am excited to finally become a part of the Seminole family. I look forward to joining the talented athletes, the dedicated students and the friendly people. The great weather couldn't hurt either. Even though (Brown) loves the rookies he has - because they play extremely hard and he loves anybody who plays hard and plays right - he is at the stage of his coaching career and life where he needs veteran players. Larry loves guys who have been in fights and wars and know what to do every time they're out on the court. That's why I think he'd love to get a guy like Kenyon Martin .

When I took my trip out there, the coaching staff was great, the players were great. I really loved the campus and just the surroundings.

We have great chemistry, great character. Our goals would be to keep everybody -- the coaching staff, the players -- together and hopefully improve next year. We all feel like we've got something going here.

It's just the beginning as well as a great signing by this organization. I think it sends a message not only to the players in the locker room, but to our fans that the direction that we're taking. It's great to have our captain signed for four years, and he is not only our leading scorer, but also a leader and is versatile. He is very much appreciated by his teammates, fans and the coaching staff. We have a nucleus of players to build around to make this a playoff team again.
