They grab and gamble ordsprog

en They grab and gamble all over the court. We haven't faced that this year. We turned the ball over 14 times in the first half (in a 77-75 loss to Dickinson in December). We are only averaging around 14 a game.

en We turned the ball over 25 times, which robbed us of any chance to win the game. We turned it over 24 times up there (a 77-61 loss Dec. 10 in Rensselaer, Ind.). I take the blame for that. That's what we talked about in practice, but I guess I didn't do a very good job of getting their attention.

en Steals and we turned the ball over. Essentially, the game was decided by that. The pressure. Half-court and full-court.

en He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We did everything possible to win the game. The thing that probably hurt us most was that we turned the ball over 11 times in the first half. We shot 59 percent in the first half, and that's 11 times we didn't get a shot. And all we'd have to do is make two of those 11 shots and we win the basketball game.

en And you see want happened when we did run our offense in the second half. The inside was open for easy shots. Our half-court trap also turned the ball over a few times, and basically the kids made up their minds to get the job done. They played their hearts out.

en We broke it most of the time, but we turned the ball over too much. We're averaging 15 turnovers per game, and you can't do that.

en I feel like we really turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and obviously we shot the ball well throughout the contest. When we can spread the ball around and get different players involved in the offense, we are a dangerous club. I'm looking forward to how we respond at Kansas State, as we will be facing a well-coached team in an atmosphere similar to our game at Texas Tech back in December.

en I can't remember anybody in my time in college basketball averaging 27 or 28 a game. It's been a long time since I was in school. Every year there's somebody that leads the country in scoring averaging 27 or 28 a game, but his team's usually not very good. J.J. being able to do that and shoot the ball as effectively as he has with the other team's defense aimed at him is about as impressive as it can be.

en I thought we did a pretty good job defensively in the beginning of the game. But we turned the ball over in key times. First half rebounding killed us, but we fought back.

en It came down to us handling their pressure. We turned the ball over too many times. At crunch time, we got the ball up court. And Tiffany ran well.

en We've got more of a half-court game than we had last year. I like it both ways (up-tempo and half-court)., but I can get my shot off better in half-court.

en It was one of the best defenses that I've faced all year. They made it tough for me to get open. I turned it over three or four times, I've got to get better.

en We were doing a half-court press. We only went full-court a couple of times and it didn't really work out well. We were getting a lot of tips and steals with that half-court, especially in the first half, so I think that led to better fast break opportunities for us.

en I thought we played hard at times but our execution was not very good. We felt that they were bigger but I thought we were faster. They turned it in to a half court game and they beat us. We just didn't make the plays we needed to make in order to win the game.

en We turned the ball over eight times in the first quarter, and four times again in the second, and 12 turnovers is not getting it done. We had over 50 percent shooting in the first half, we just couldn't get enough shots off.
