en We're disappointed in the outcome, but we're pleased to see a relatively strong Democratic performance in an otherwise staunchly Republican district.

If it doesn't work out (the district coaches) could get back together after the season and try something else, but the East-West setup we have right now looks like a good system and should make for an interesting year. Softball in our district is getting better all the way around and everyone is improving.

en Our original proposal from the coaches association looked nothing like this, ... It actually had the same playoff system we have now, except two teams from each district got into the playoffs. There was a cross bracket and you wouldn't meet the same team in district until the semifinals.
