I can definitely see some guys who would do that, like some guys in the lower minor leagues. Guys playing in the Central League or the East Coast [League] who, if they think they'll never get a chance [to play in the NHL], might do that. A lot of the guys now are 400/200 type of runners. I don't think, being a 400-meter runner, you can sustain long-term performance in the event with just speed type of training. No one has ever been able to do it. So I think it is harder for them to stay in condition year round, especially for big meets, end-of-season major competitions and things.

Sam McCausland, a freshman, had a great day. He was seventh and improved his personal best by over a minute. And Gerrett Swann did very well. He was ninth, and we're starting to close the gap with U-32. The last race they had five guys in front of my third guy and this time they only had three guys in front of my third guy. There's only a handful of great players in the whole league, maybe 10. Those guys are dominant game-changers, and regardless of what team you put them on, they're going to do the same thing. Those are the real Hall of Fame guys. If there was another league after this, they'd be in that league.

Instructional league. We're all part of the same organization. These guys are not that far away. Last night is a good example.

I'll greatly miss them and more because of the type of people they are rather than the type of players they are. It was fun. It was an honor for me to go to practice every day and joke around with those guys and talk to those guys. They're in my estimation what college football's all about.

He's up there in appearances, and he may have had tougher type saves than a lot of guys out there. He's had more than just the one-inning saves. Just a couple times, we've held him out due to number of appearances in a row. Do you guys remember any of those?

I keep track of these guys. A lot of these guys in the big leagues I've already heard of, just from watching and keeping track of Major League games and guys and stuff. It's fun to come out and face these guys that I've read about.

A lot of guys, with a runner on third with less than two outs, we're going to concede that run. He can get that strikeout. Those guys don't come along too often, and when you've got one of them on your side, it's nice.
