en We've got a lot of work to do. Right now, we have guys doing stuff that we just don't do here at the University of Florida. We need to start getting better and get some intensity. I know what this group is capable of and right now they are not meeting my expectations.

en I think that because of the new era and because of the success coach Meyer has had, the expectations are going to be higher. Then you start to look at our team and what we have coming back. You've got so many players that played when they were young and now they're back, that's why the expectations are so much higher. But this is the University of Florida. That's why we're here and that's why the program is the way it is.

en I look at it that since we put this group of guys together in the third week of February, how are we playing and what are we capable of becoming? I know the players would hate to hear this, but I'd love to go to training camp with this group right now and start the season all over again.

He's a graduate of the University of Florida. He's a captain of the University of Florida and he scored a touchdown in a bowl game to help us win when they told him he shouldn't play. So that's what the face of Florida football is.

en I didn't think I was meeting the expectations of what my university should be. I thought it was time.

en Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

en ... I use that stuff now even more than ever. A lot of times when you first come in, you're getting by on your speed or your athletic ability. When you start to lose that, that's when you start going to that kind of stuff. At that time, those guys were using that stuff and I was lucky to pick it up at a young age.

en I think that any time that you have this many returning starters, you have higher expectations. I think as individuals we have high expectations for our team just because we know the character of guys we have here and what we're capable of.

en I felt like this group was capable of doing well. They're in the pool at 5 a.m. and they (usually) put in 10 or 11 workouts a week. When you work with a group of kids like these, you see how hard they work and how much they want it.

en I can relate to him (Saunders), we have similar values, backgrounds, ... (Saunders) coming from Cleveland, being a Big Ten man -- I'm a University of Michigan man, he's University of Minnesota -- I just relate much, much differently to Flip than I do the other two coaches (Rick Carlisle and Brown). ... From the beginning, you can start with low maintenance, can start with not having an ego, or he's going to overwhelm everybody, Flip's going to work the way I'd work, as I see it.

en It is indicative of the fact that courses are appealing to not just university students, but high school students capable of doing university work.

en There are no expectations for this group. It's not fair to ask this group to win a state championship. They have exceeded expectations. It's not the most talented group, but they've hustled, they have a lot of heart and they are competitors.

en Except for two seniors that graduated. They have a tailback committed to University of Tennessee. Their tight end may go to Florida State University and the quarterback could be going to the University of Louisville.

en If you're a researcher at another institution, and you see that we're doing the same quantity of work and the same caliber of work as researchers at these other institutions, you're going to think of the University of Florida differently.
