It feels good getting this win. A lot of people were saying Marist is playing good out of conference, but they can't win a MAAC game. It was getting kind of annoying hearing that.

I don't think the overall identity of the conference has changed. We've been a good conference, and we are a good conference. There's more teams, I guess that's the change. The only thing that people really think about conferences is who the best teams are. We're going to have a lot of the best teams, like we always do.

Go back into the days when Maryland lost the ACC championship to N.C. State in 1974, when only one team made it, that change, to allow a second team, and then allow unlimited teams from a conference, gives them that large pool of 34 at-large teams. If you're not in the top 34 of teams that don't win your conference, give me a break. You've had the chance to win games. You have no reason to complain.

They've got big post players. They're a smash-mouth MAC (Mid-American Conference) type team. And, they're good at home. They're a lot quicker and have more hop in their step at home. They're also starting to get some kids back from injuries. They're very good team.

(Is it) disappointing being below .500? No. Would I like to be over? Yes. But again, our record is where it stands, and we're right in the middle of a lot of teams bunched up. It's our job, our focus, to get above that. To get out of that bunch.

A conference tournament is always fun. You have all the teams there at one time. And the good thing this year is that all the teams get along good. We will enjoy the atmosphere. Our first goal is to win Saturday and clinch the second seed. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. We want to at least get to the finals of the conference tournament. We've been there the last two years.

As good as (Jordan) was, our team was fortunate to pull it together and be better than Marist. It's not a game for individuals. It's a game for teams, and our team, today, was better than them.

It's always nice to win at home. The guys are looking really good right now. Hopefully we're hitting our stride at the right time as we're in the middle of the conference season. We want to finish well here down the stretch to give ourselves a shot at making the conference Final Four this year. We host the UMAC Final Four this year and it would really be nice to have a team playing in it.

I think, all in all, the effort showed that they could play against a good team. And that's the kind of teams that we're going to face in order to do anything in our conference.

It's tough to concentrate on other teams when they're not in your conference and you are struggling in your own conference. We were having problems in our conference early on. When they beat Texas, we knew they were a good team. We are giving them their respect.

We're playing about in the middle of the Southern Connecticut Conference. We're beating the weaker teams, in fact, we're winning those games handily. But we're not playing well against the better teams. We need to improve so we can be more competitive against the good teams.

I don't think people (Purdue) will be unbeaten. I just think there are too many good teams and too many teams doing good things. I can't say when that will occur or I can't say how that will occur but I just think that the league is too good. ... It's a stronger conference this year, especially in the middle portion of it.

Pretty much how the conference is is the teams that struggle are on the bottom, and then the top four teams and then we're stuck somewhere in the middle. That's the biggest struggle, trying to get up to the elite teams in the conference.
