I haven't made a pronouncement. But I've seen nothing out there from him that makes me think he can't play center field and play it well.

It just happened that we had more of a need in center field. We all knew 'X' can play. Certainly, this would have been the year that would have provided a great opportunity to play one of the corner positions. But in this outfield here, we thought it was more important to go get a guy who can play center field.

When Jeremy got hurt and we were looking for someone to play center field, he entered the mix. I've seen nothing out there of him to make me think he can't play center field and play it well.

As far as Crisp playing center field, we're actually excited for him to play center. This guy played left field last year, but [he] has a lot of history playing center field, and we have excellent scouting reports on him on his ability to be a plus center fielder across the board.

It was huge. The big thing with Corey out there is that he can play great defense. Today, I don't think he was happy with what happened at the plate. We talked right before we went out there [for the ninth] and said, 'Man, you can make the play that makes the difference in the game in center field,' and he did.

He's going to play left field. He needs to be out there now the next couple of weeks to play, and if he's not going to play for us, we need to know so we can go forward. We obviously will field offers, but we're not going to give the player away. If we can make a deal that makes sense, we will.

The course is fabulous; I think Jack did a good job. We've got a very nice venue — better than many that we play. After last night, there's been a big impact made on how this course will play due to the weather. It makes the course play longer, but it makes the greens very receptive.

He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. I think Jim Edmonds plays center field somewhat like how I played center field, and I like to watch him play it.

That's a play that ... we haven't really run that much. I thought they'd all be dropping deep and there'd be a big hole over the middle. He made a nice play on it. I tried to keep it low, a safe throw, but he made a play on it.

I play center-forward. I like working as a team. I love all field sports. It's just fun getting to play every day.

Cobb would have to play center field on my all time team. But where would that put Speaker? In left. If I had them both, I would certainly play them that way.

That's as big a play as any, to save that ball from going to center field. And he was still trying to get the play at the bag. That's how athletic Greeney is.

Finley is going to play even if everybody is healthy, and he is going to play center field when he plays.

They haven't told me anything, ... If they tell you you have to play (defense) you have to play 'D.' But I've been a center for three years here. When I first got here, I played wing, but it didn't really work out. But it's the coach's decision.

He's made some huge plays. The play he made against New England was a huge play, it was the play of the year. . . . The thing about the guy is, he never gets down, never too high, never too low, just keep on playing. That's what makes him special.
