en We came here to test some different things and it showed some promise. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. The worst thing that could have happened is that we put in the tune-up that qualified us No. 2 and No. 3 at the last two races in Brainerd (Minn.) and Memphis. We learned some things these past two days. Any time you run the car, you learn something.

en I had the worst possible results in recent time trials because of the cold. But I still have time before my races and I want to look forward without thinking too much about the things that have already happened.

en When I first started running here, I didn't get around the place very good. It was just a real hot, slick race track for me. I don't know what happened, but we showed up one week and this thing was just really, really fast and we've been fast ever since. So it's something in the car or in the set-up of the car that Tony Jr. found -- maybe at a test at Richmond or somewhere -- that has helped us here. That's really how we won those races and turned it around from the first races we had here. So that has a lot to do with it.

en It was just one of those days when things didn't go right for us. Hopefully we can learn from some of the things that happened tonight and bounce back from them.

en I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it
seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that
you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that

en First off our father was our biggest influence. He showed us all the songs that we needed, that we learned from. He played us every Beatles tune, every Elvis Presley tune Richie Valens,
Ronny Millsap, Willie Nelson Anything that you can name ...
Everything old, nothing new. Everything was old, about the only thing new I can think of is like, you know, probably like Stevie Ray and Santana and stuff. You know, they're old but they came later.

en We know our Test record is not good at all against Sri Lanka. But that all happened in the past. This time we are confident that we can do something what we showed in the one-day series.

en There's a lot of anxiety. There's uncertainty about what's going to happen, what's going on. It's devastating because of what happened to the city, what happened in Mississippi and other places. . . . I watched. I tried to keep up with it and see what's going on. . . . Unfortunately, you have to expect the worst. Many of the worst things that could have happened, they happened.

en I think so. A lot of things have happened since the past. I came back in 2003 with Elliott and we had a lot of success. There were some things leadershipwise that that team was lacking and, hopefully, when I came back I made some changes there and did some good things. We won some races and had a lot of success. A lot of things have gone on since then. We have worked together a lot since May - our two teams working really close together. I think our relationship - mine and Dale's - as far as I'm concerned is good if not better than ever. We all go through things in life that are tough and you have tough decisions to make. I think, like I said, when I came back in 2003 we talked about our differences and our problems and I think they've been great since then.

en We didn't apply those lessons that we should have learned in the past. It's just another point to look at to say this is how it feels to lose and if you don't apply the things you're taught and the things you learn before the game, you're not going to play how you want to.

en I don't have a lot to say, I am just very happy about the award. I am just going to keep doing the same things that I do. We get the horses trained and qualified for the races which start in April and go through November. The amount of races we do generally varies.

en In the past decade or so, the women's magazines have taken to running home-handyperson articles suggesting that women can learn to fix things just as well as men. These articles are apparently based on the ludicrous assumption that _men_ know how to fix things, when in fact all they know how to do is _look_ at things in a certain squinty-eyed manner, which they learned in Wood Shop; eventually, when enough things in the home are broken, they take a job requiring them to transfer to another home.

en The thing is, other teams key on you, and I've figured that out. Any time you go through struggles, you learn lessons. I don't enjoy it, by any means. I've learned to let things go, just move on and come back at it.

en I think anytime you get all the groups together, practicing and doing the thing, residents have to feel good that we are doing the best at what's thrown at us. Did things go perfectly? No. Were there things we learned? We learned tons of things.

en I owe a lot to the Brainerd legacy for my accomplishments. My pledge to you and my mother is to come here in the spring and have theater arts across the field of Brainerd. I have a commitment to this project, these grounds and what Brainerd is about.
