en I'm so proud to see him on the all-district list. Michael is very deserving of it. He's not the fastest or strongest player out there, but he makes the plays. He uses his mind, and he did things the way they're supposed to be done. He just loves to play, and it's very rewarding to see someone like that get honored.

en She is the type of player any coach would love to have. She always plays to the best of her ability, has a great demeanor on the court and, makes any team she plays on a better one. It was always fun watching her play, unless it was against us. She is deserving of Player of the Year honors.

en He's just a tough kid, who is very football-smart. He's not the biggest, not the strongest and not the fastest. He reads the blocks well and just makes plays.

en Michael always comes in and gives it 100 percent. He's another one of the quiet kids on the team. He's always thinking, 'What's going to happen here?' He's a player's player. He's ready for what's going to happen and he plays good defense and he came in and gave us a big spark because of his energy. And one of the things we talked about was that we had to play with intensity and Michael came in and took that to heart. He played with intensity and it was evident that it gave us a pickup.

en He's one of the fastest -- if not the fastest -- player in our district and is developing into a very good football player.

en They will be great players if they put in the effort and do the things they are supposed to do, and they know it. But it's a bunch of guys around them that has ability just like them. Whoever learns it is going to play, and whoever makes the most plays is going to play.

en He just loves playing football. We need more guys like that. He just loves playing football. He doesn't care who gets the credit. He goes out there and makes plays ... and if someone else makes the play, he's just as happy.

en Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. West Frankfort was supposed to win. ... but, it isn't always the biggest, fastest or strongest that wins, but it's the guy who thinks he can.

en That's what's special about Jeff. He's not going to beat you because he's the strongest, fastest, quickest, highest jumper out there. He beats you because of his will to win. He absolutely loves to compete.

en What makes me so proud is that those whose names are honored have gone on to such good things. They are so much more than gymnasts.

en I've picked up a lot of things along the way and, hopefully, I'll keep learning each game, ... I'm not the best athlete on the field, the strongest guy or fastest guy, but I think I'm mentally ready to play. During practice, I'm really focused. I like to watch film on our next opponent every night. Hopefully on Fridays, I'm one step ahead of things.

en Even though (Brown) loves the rookies he has - because they play extremely hard and he loves anybody who plays hard and plays right - he is at the stage of his coaching career and life where he needs veteran players. Larry loves guys who have been in fights and wars and know what to do every time they're out on the court. That's why I think he'd love to get a guy like Kenyon Martin .

en Anytime you're thought of by your peers in the coaches' poll and you guys (media in attendance) thinking of us in a positive way with our program and team right now makes you feel good. We're honored. Hopefully, we're deserving of it. But also we want to keep things in perspective. For us, it's never been about us trying to crack the polls. We're still on our journey to become champions in our conference. So, nothing has changed in that regard.

en First thing when you think about Jimmy Dowd, he's a guy you can rely on. He's a great team player, loves the game, loves to play. He's a fan and a player.

en Experience is the best teacher, but guys have to be accountable for being where they're supposed to be. That's something Sam and I have talked about. Do your job, do what you're supposed to do and plays will come your way. Take care of your things first-hand. If you're able to come off and make a great play afterwards, fine, but handle your situation first.
