en The players make up the team and the coach will lead us. We have all the confidence in the world (in Godwin). We believe he can take us where we want to go.

en We were just shocked (Monday) for one. There's one way we can go and that's forward. We've got full confidence in coach Godwin and coach Garrett will take over this program. It's unfortunate that it happened, but nothing we can really do about it.

en I'm just shocked. But I support coach Godwin 100 percent. That is the way all of us feel. He (Godwin) is here for a reason, he knows how to win. He has earned our respect and trust.

en I think that Coach wants me to lead this team if at all possible. Obviously, as a coach, he has to make the final decision and he has to feel in his heart that he can believe in me and have no doubt that I can help our team win and lead this team. A lot of that has to do with my health.

en A coach sees things very differently than the players. It's important to use that different perspective to educate and encourage. But it's also important, like a good coach, to lead your team by example. For instance, while you should point out mistakes by your employees, be sure to admit when you yourself make a mistake.

en I hope to lead this team to a Big Ten championship and make a run at the Final Four. I'm just being honest. I know a lot of people are going to write us off but I think we can do it. We have the players and we have the coach.

en We will assist coach Godwin in building a staff to provide this year's team with the leadership necessary to compete at the highest level.

en I think she works so hard at being a coach and puts forth so much effort. Most of all she has a lot of confidence in us. I think a lot of coaches lack that confidence in their players, but she knew we could beat that team, no matter how good or bad they were, and no matter who we went up against. That is a really special quality in a coach and it's hard to find.

en We have obstacles in front of us, but my goal and my job[as coach] is to continue to develop our younger players, to get the most and the best out of our veteran players, to not have a losing record, to make the playoffs every year and to lead this organization and this team to a level that it has yet to reach, I always look forward to the challenge and opportunity and I am looking forward to continuing the success of Indiana basketball. en Just the time we?ve grown from my rookie year until now, it?s so different. Coach gives us the flexibility to say, ?Hey, if you like this, you like that, do that. As long as you have the confidence to do it.? I?m glad he has the confidence in me that I?m going to get open and make plays, because that?s what I?m going to do for him, and that?s what I?m going to do for my team.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en I know that in this business, as head coach I am measured, ultimately, by wins and losses. I was very proud of our players and what we accomplished last week. I have never doubted my ability to coach and lead the Cowboys successfully. I know how hard our coaches and players have worked for this program.

only thing a coach can do is to continue to train, build players' confidence,
continue to believe in them, or make personnel changes, ... Players
with the kind of experience that we have should be finishing their opportunities...that's
what they're paid for, that's what they're here for, that's what they're on the
field for.

en We're moving on, ... Things happen, unfortunately. I apologize to coach. I apologize to the fans and the team so there is no need to dwell on it. It's an unfortunate incident. It was a misunderstanding, but he's still the coach and he's still allowed to make the decisions that he wants to make and players got to live with it.

en There's a lot of confidence in the squad, a lot of togetherness and we're ready for this World Cup. We've got a lot of hungry players.
