His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. We tried for 12 years and we had some great times in Macon, and we certainly developed some phenomenal baseball players. We just needed to take it one step further.

That was great. She needed that. This team needed that. They had put their best defensive players on her the past two games. Tonight we needed her to step up anyway and she did that.

We needed someone who can play those two positions. If that had been a pure shooter, great, but we just needed someone to play that spot. We need players on our team to step up and make shots.

We've done great things in the last four years. We've done everything we've said we are going to do. And we said we needed a new baseball-only, roof-enclosed stadium.

That's the creative touch that Daniel brings. We needed that tonight and we needed our big players, our offensive players, to step up.

Every year, it keeps getting better. They've smoothed out the learning curves. We have a great relationship with the city. We know how to keep building it every day. I'm thrilled Macon has come out. We've had four great years, and we're looking forward to coming back.

Coach (Jim) Thomas does a great job of teaching game. When his players get to this level, I feel they're a step ahead in baseball knowledge.

Everybody had to step up because we were without great players that we needed. For the most part, guys stepped up. You obviously want to win but we did all we could out there tonight.

Electronic Arts has gone to great lengths to capture the unique features of college baseball. We have heard tremendous positive feedback from the university athletic directors, conference commissioners and the baseball coaches. There is a great deal of momentum surrounding college baseball, and this project is another significant step forward.

I love baseball. I'm down here [in Arizona] because of baseball. I'm the only one down here from my family. They want me to come back to Ohio, but I say, 'No way.' The weather's great and baseball is year-round down here. The players are nice. It's fun meeting the new guys and learning who they are.

I feel like we've got more depth this year than we've had in past years. We did what we needed to do in order to win the game. We had some different players step into different roles and do a really nice job for us.

The World Baseball Classic is a great idea. After all these years waiting to be a Yankee, I think I'm just going to step away from that and concentrate on being here. I've probably got to look out for myself, my family and the Yankees. They come first.

The expectations for next year are greater but we need to take things step by step. It's a matter of 25 or 30 baseball players. We already know what we must do. Hopefully, the team will return to form.

I've seen a lot of players over the years with great baseball tools and good instincts, ... But this kid is something special. He does things nobody else can do.

The list of great Macon sports heroes goes on and on and on. Being honored here tonight was probably not on your radar screen many years ago, because people generally don't think like that.
