I was pleased with our defense. The tempo of the game is what we were looking for. They were physical like I thought they'd be. We had to make adjustments.

We felt like we were back in the game, felt we were able to move the ball. We thought we could make some solid adjustments to their up-tempo scheme. We did make the adjustments, but we didn't play well.

It was really a good defensive game, at the net as well as in the back row. Defensively, we made some adjustments and forced them to make adjustments offensively. I was very pleased with that. They hit hard line a couple times and we adjusted and dug that up. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. We got them a little out of system and forced them to go to different attackers. (Penn's) defense was a little better.

I really thought it was a knock-down, drag-out type of game. They played great defense and were physical. I thought we played real good defense and were physical. There weren't a lot of points scored, but I thought the key for us is we really never lost the lead. I'm proud of my guys.

I thought the game was played at their tempo, and that's to their credit. They got us to play at their tempo. And then the last four minutes of the first half, we finally got hands on balls and turned defense into offense.

We were fortunate to just be down by two at half. The game was being played at their tempo. We decided to make some adjustments and quicken the game up.

We were stagnant during the middle part of the game. They were able to get the tempo to their liking and we just didn't make the necessary adjustments.

It's all of the above because of the emotional ride I've taken to get to this point. Football's a physical game, so I've had to get myself physically ready. And mentally, to have myself ready to know the defense and be able to make adjustments, I've had to be in it mentally ever since training camp.

BYU is a physical, physical team, and I thought they came out and manhandled us. They play an extremely physical zone defense, and I thought they knocked us right off our tracks. They made it difficult for us to find shots.

The key to our win was our goaltending and our defense. Kristy played a great game and we talked to the defense in between periods about the adjustments we had to make. (Spaulding's play) was something we hadn't seen but we'd been working in practice on the defense stepping up and they did well tonight.

They're starting from scratch on defense, so we don't have any film of their personnel playing that defense. We do have an idea what they'll do, but we know we'll have to make some mid-game adjustments.

They just make you play a ragged game. They are extremely well-coached and they always have a good defense. I'm pleased to put up 82 points on them, and I thought we were outstanding defensively.

We actually thought we had our defense solid, and we thought it was the best part of our team. I guess it's time to make some adjustments to it. As a head coach, it's my responsibility, and I'm disappointed in the way we performed (Tuesday night).

We can be really pleased with our second-half performance, and that we were able to make adjustments and shut them down on defense. At the same time, if we're going to beat top level teams in the playoffs, especially Cal, we're going to have to come out firing on all cylinders.

We were a little flat after yesterday. That was a big physical and mental game. But we dug down deep and found that little something extra. I thought Brandy did a beautiful job on the Magee girl. We didn't block her out on defense, but as far as initial defense and not giving her good looks, I thought Brandy did a great job on No. 15.
