We've had two nice ordsprog

en We've had two nice shooting games in a row. At halftime, I told the guys we weren't going to hold the ball. We needed to attack and be assertive. You have to do that against a good team like Candor.

en We needed this so bad. Halftime, I told the guys, 'I feel good about this.' Everybody was quiet. But we were playing OK defense. I had a good feeling about the game at halftime. All we needed was a crack in the door.

en That was big. Our guys worked hard to get on base, and Phil?s been hitting the ball real nice for us all year. He got a nice pitch to hit and dropped the bat on the ball and it went out. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. That was a good start for us -- we needed that. We haven?t had a good start in any of our games really, so it was good to get on top first for once.

en I don't think we're going to see another man-to-man (defense) until we learn to knock down some 3s. That's all we've seen the last four, five ball games. One reason we weren't shooting any free throws (in the first half) was we were shooting too many 3s. We told them to go to the hole.

en Alex has had a couple of bad games in a row shooting the ball, and we talked about it, and he came out and took a lot of good looks tonight and made them. The team did a good job of realizing who was hot and getting the ball to him when we needed to.

en Nicole did not play well in the first half. She gets nervous and is often too hyped up before games. She wasn't able to settle in. At halftime, I told her that we needed her to score and that we needed her to take care of the ball.

en We had already had two or three corners at that point. I just told Theresa that she needed to hold the ball a little longer (before shooting).

en We came out lollygagging and they shot the ball well, and we weren't shooting well at all. Coach told us we needed to play harder.

en We did the same thing (against Millersport the previous night). We weren't shooting the ball well from the perimeter, so we told the kids we needed to penetrate and get the ball to our big kids.

en We talked at halftime that we were going to get the good basket. We knew we're a good enough shooting team that they were going to fall sometime. They weren't falling in the first half.

en There were times tonight when this team could have folded its tent. We're not as good as we think we are. I told them at halftime that it was gut-check time, that they needed to show what this team was all about. They finally stepped up and made big plays when they needed to. I was very pleased with their enthusiasm and effort at the end.

en We didn't change anything up at halftime. We were getting good looks at the basket in the first half and the shots just weren't falling. I told them to keep their heads up and keep shooting. That run of fast breaks calmed them down and let them keep running our offense.

en They just kept shooting and shooting. Delhi made eight of their 15 3-point attempts in the first half. We told our guys at halftime that they can't keep shooting that way. They have to cool off and we'll make our run. Fortunately they cooled off in the second half.

en I told the team at halftime that we needed to pick up our scoring. We needed to get the ball into the post and be more patient on offense. When we did that, things just fell together. I was really happy with our overall play. This was a key week for us in the standings and I think winning both puts us in position to contend for a championship.

en I felt really good being tied at halftime. We weren't shooting the ball well, but I thought that would get better, and I thought they were getting tired.
