He comes to play in big games, and today was two big games. I think he stepped up and led us to victory.

If we play like we did today, we could have won the last two games. This was the first time that the seniors stepped up and never gave up.

For us to get into it, we have to find ways to win games like today. That's the biggest thing for me. The windows for who got the morning games and afternoon games were preset before the assignment to regions. We knew Cleveland would be earlier games [today at noon and 2:30 p.m.] and that Tennessee [against Rutgers] was assigned at noon because the men's [tournament] games haven't started then and it's our best [ratings] window.

There are games that are going to be very difficult road games. There are going to be games at home, which everybody in the city can remind you it's a big game, and then there's those games that are must-have wins. And that's what (today's) game is; it's a must-have win.

We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it. [We] hope he can help us in a spot in the next four days.
