I felt good from ordsprog

I felt good from the first pitch in the bullpen. I had everything working, had good command, good location.

I just felt really relaxed out there. I was just taking things one pitch at a time. If you're going to have a good team, you've got to have a good bullpen.

He was a little inconsistent with his command (in the first two games). The addition to him having the good command (on Sunday) was that he was really good pitch-count wise.

Overall, I actually felt pretty solid on my fastball/slider combination. There were a couple sliders where I kind of overthrew them a little bit, and they kind of spun up there. I had a couple good sharp ones down. Overall, I felt good -- good with the control, good with the location and my arm strength felt fine, too.

Health-wise, the other day it was good, but his command was not close. It was not good as we needed it to be. We just want to make sure when he comes up here he is not going to get hammered. It doesn't matter how good you throw, if you don't have your location, you're going to have a tough time getting through an inning in this league.

Regular work is the key to converting to the bullpen and my command. As a starter, you have a routine. Out of the bullpen, you never know when you will pitch. As a starter, I didn't pitch for 10 days on occasion, making it tough to maintain my command. A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence.

He kept his pitch count down, he had pretty good command. He always has good command of his pitching. We let him down early in the game, didn't make some plays for him and got him some runs, but he battled back and got out of some situations and kind of cruised there at the end.

We've been trying all winter to build depth with guys that we think can handle a multitude of roles. We know he can pitch out of the bullpen, and more importantly he's got great makeup. Good character, good guy, a good competitor. That's our kind of guy.

His command seemed pretty good, but they were swinging the bats good. The Cardinals have a real good hitting team. That eight-running inning shows how quick they can tack runs on you. You've got to be on your game to pitch.

This was really good. I had a good quick sixth inning and went out for the seventh. I got the first guy out and then got in a little bit of trouble. I felt good. I thought I could throw a (complete game) but everyone in the bullpen came in and did a great job. We got the win.

Everything is a lot better now. My last bullpen was good. I had good location and my mechanics were better. I'm ready [to start].

Its tough. I felt really good. I pitched well early and, actually, that was the only pitch that I felt was not a very good pitch and it got hit out of the ballpark in a big situation.

In the bullpen, his command was as good as anybody we have. Leaving the bullpen, I thought he was going to have a fantastic game.

I made a good pitch to Holliday and he hit a good pitch. I tip my hat to that. I figured (the quick-pitch) was a good thing to do. In the three years I've been doing that I've only given up one hit. He did a good job of getting ready to hit that ball. That surprised me.
