[Engelmann] is a good ordsprog

en [Engelmann] is a good player. We talked a little about him maybe guarding me because he is tall and fast.

en Well, I don't know if he struggles. I think at times if we don't clearly pick up the protection or if we can't beat the guy that is guarding us. ... Sometimes they got a good player guarding us and they make the play.

en It's tough guarding guys who are 6-6 that can handle the ball, but that's what the league is coming to. A lot of them are so good, you kind of forget about (how tall they are) when you start playing.

en I don't think those guys talked about Will defensively, but the whole key [to this game] was having a player who takes on the challenge of guarding a great player like Davis. Our defense, which has been so consistent all year long, was a big key. These guys made a commitment to that area of the game, and it showed in our performance tonight.

en We talked a lot about mechanics. Being tall, when something mechanical can go wrong, it goes wrong in a hurry. We talked about what he watches out for and the things he does in his bullpen sessions. It was good stuff.

en I don't get angry, I just laugh at it, ... The numbers are right there and show everything clearly. I guess people are sometimes afraid to go with the clear-cut guy and decide to go with the hype instead. Don't get me wrong, J.J. is a great shooter and a great player. You'd be stupid to think he's not a great player considering what he does for Duke. But Salim can create his shot against anyone, somebody 6-foot-4, 6-7, fast, long, tall. It doesn't matter. I don't see how anybody can say a college player is a better shooter than Salim.

en He's the sort of player who's probably more suited to the NBA, where he could end up guarding Shaq [Shaquille O'Neal] or Yao Ming. He's a good passer, he's got nice touch and he's a very smart player.

en I've had a lot of great ones, but I've never had a guy that tall, that fast and that strong. He's gaining confidence, too. I don't think we've seen him play as well as he can play. I don't want to put any extra pressure on him, but he's a special player.

en That's as good a job as somebody's done guarding the three against us all year. They're so long and athletic. And the pressure, they get you going so fast. Even when you do get a second to get a shot up, maybe you're rushing a little bit here and there.

en Zack's been playing very well. He's accepted the challenge of guarding the other team's post player, and he's done a good job. He's going to be a good one.
