I feel rejuvenated, refreshed. I've been around some guys who can play this game. I'm a part of this tradition. Baseball's been part of my life since I was 4, 5 years old. I've always tried to model myself after a few guys and see what I'm capable of doing.

But for the most part, we have concluded when we looked at this profile that we needed to recognize that we are not baseball guys. We are baseball fans and we have a passion for the game. I've been one in my life that has wanted to become associated with people who were experts and then were given the responsibility and authority to act on their expertise. For the most part, that's what we're going to do.

They're part of their game and part of their attack; they've done them for years. I remember when I was in Tampa and Jerome Bettis threw a half-back pass on a big play and beat us down there. They've got guys who can do it.

The guys have always been good character guys and we have always gotten along with each other. That's a big part of being part of the Nashville Predators. The guys they brought in may have more skill than some and a little more speed than others, but for the most part their personalities fit with what the Nashville Predators are all about. That's makes it more easier to play with them than anything.

We're excited that the Sharks made us a part of this process and for the chance to see some of their young talent play in game situations. Not only will we be able to get to know some of the guys that might be assigned to us in the future, but we'll also be able to get a first-hand look at guys that we might want to recruit in years to come.

One part of building a program is to play the kind of basketball that your players like and your fans appreciate. Our guys are playing hard, and that is the first and most important part of being appreciated as you play the game the right way. I think [the fans] really appreciate these guys because [the players] are putting their hearts out for them every night.

J. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. P., part of bringing him over was because I thought he was a good catcher defensively also. He does not have the strongest throwing arm in baseball. But he throws well enough. The other part of his game was really good. And I thought his offense was better than what people were giving him credit for. ... Those two guys together, I think they compliment each other. I think they're good for each other. So they're both going to play a lot.

Some guys are more fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, part of that right chemistry on that right team. And other guys aren't. You look at Ernie Banks in baseball - he never even played in a playoff game his whole career.

It's probably not the greatest thing for some of these guys that are on the bubble, but that's just part of the game and something you have to deal with when you're part of this game. Most of my career, I went through that, so I know exactly what these guys are going through. I definitely have empathy for what they're going through.

We have a lot of guys who are a little beat up and a little stressed out at this part of the season. It's great to have this break, let everybody get away and then come back refreshed.

We all take pride in what they've been able to do; we feel like we were part of it. I still consider them my closest friends. They're the guys you talk to on Christmas Day. It's the closest staff I've been a part of in 22 years of coaching.

We had a lot of guys step up when (Iverson) went out. This was not a game of stats. This was about our guys going out there and just trying to play. Everyone had a part in winning this game.

I'm appreciative of this team, and I'll say for the most part — because it's never 100 percent — these guys have hung in there, they have tried to do what we asked them to do, and they've gotten themselves ready on a weekly basis. So, the loyalty part of it is a part of this game and, sure, you appreciate that.

We're so glad that we're part of this. We kind of feel bad for some of the guys in the past years that had gotten close but didn't get there. We feel like we redeemed some people and feel honored that it was us (to finally get to state).

It's cool to be part of one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history. You don't think about it going into the game or that much in the game. Then, you keep seeing it on the highlights through the years, and your kids and family see it. Then, you point and say, 'See, that's me right there. I was part of that.' That's why you play the game, to be part of plays and games like that.
