en Last year (against NC) our goal was no different. We wanted to take that first drive down there and put it in the end zone. Our kids came out and believed in what they needed to do.

en Too many fouls. We wanted to play man-to-man defense but all the fouls made it tough. We had to switch to a zone. Still, the kids believed we could win until the third quarter.

en They did not kick a field goal. We spent a lot of time in the red zone. Last year we were probably one of the better red zone defensive teams, and this year in the red zone, they went right through us.

en We came into this season believing it was going to be a rebuilding year. The kids were the ones that believed they could be here today. Our goal is always to make it to the championship and I'm sure some people around the conference didn't believe we could do it.

en His whole life was those kids, and those kids love him, too. He wanted to get the kids playing. He believed in it. He had a dream.

en By the end of the year, we had kids believing and that was a benchmark. By the end of the season they truly believed they belonged wrestling on the varsity level. They believed in the program and what I'm teaching them is going to help them.

You lose, you're 3-25 and what's the difference? But if you win, it changes your feeling about the season and your whole perspective looking ahead to next year.

en On that drive I told Danny (quarterback McManus) don't count on having Jamie kick a field goal. Let's get the ball into the end zone.

en We have been working hard since last year we did not make the playoffs and we did not do as well as we wanted. We didn't reach our goal. This year our goal was to improve our record from last year to where we are now. To do that took teamwork.
