en I give Pembroke full credit. They beat us to just about every loose puck. Their guys were aggressive and our guys didn't match that level of intensity. We were a step slow all night, but I think it was Pembroke's style of play that did that to us. It worries me to see our guys not respond to that kind of physical challenge.

en He puts the puck into areas where he knows guys are going to fish at it, and then when they go to fish at it, he brings it around and sneaks by guys. He uses his body well to protect the puck and then he rolls off of guys very well, makes tight turns, and takes it to the net. That creates a lot of room for other guys on his line, because if you beat a guy towards the net, sometimes another guy is going to challenge, and once that guy challenges, something else opens up.

en Both of these guys are very similar players. They both have a lot of speed. They are fairly small, they are not huge guys, but they are fairly quick. They have terrific hands. The kind of game we want to play is really an up tempo style of play, very fast with a lot of puck movement and that is what these guys play.

en It looked like he was trying to give the puck to his teammates more than is typical for his style of play. Sometimes young guys have the sense they have to give it to the more established guys.

en There really are about five or six guys competing at 171 that could win it all. It's been proven in the past that on any give night one of those top guys could step up and beat the other. In the lower state, there are five solid guys so one good wrestler isn't even going to qualify for state.

en Navy is a very physical team that is extremely well-coached. We knew they were going to go at us hard for the full seven minutes. Our guys didn't match their intensity and effort.

en We have to see how our guys are going to respond. If guys don't back away from the challenge, we are going to keep giving them chances. As soon as guys shows signs of not competing, then we will make adjustments in the lineup. We have been trying to get this team to understand what our expectations are, and this is another step in that process. Hopefully there aren't going to be too many more steps.

en They rely on that intensity. It took our guys a while to figure it out. We knew we had to possess the ball and stay wide. We didn't let their frantic, aggressive style to dictate the play.

en There's no quit in our team. Check our record, the number of games we've won when we've been down by a goal. You've got to give the guys credit. The number of guys we've had go out of the lineup at key times and the number of guys who have stepped up ... you've got to give every guy in that room credit for battling through adversity and doing it every night.

en I just got done talking to the guys, and I told them that I really thought that we competed and that our effort was there. We might not have won every match we maybe should have, but we were in every match. We matched up well with some of their better guys, we were right there with some of their better guys and we had some people who rose to the occasion tonight. That's what we're looking for. We're looking for our guys to come out and compete hard every night.

en We knew we didn't have guys who had averaged a lot of points at this level. We didn't have one player who had averaged double figures at this level. But you have to give the guys credit because their attitude and resiliency. Every day they come in trying to win games.

en They came out and were very aggressive. As I told the guys before the game, in an emotional game like this, they're going to play extremely well and play aggressive. You have to match their intensity and make shots. The two things you need to do to start the game, we didn't do.

en It's definitely going to be a challenge. But, that's all right. It gives us a chance to evaluate our guys and how they step up to the challenge. We want to see how our guys respond.
