Now he's playing within himself. His footwork has been excellent. It's all mechanics when it comes to throwing. If your feet are up under you and you are throwing on time, you are usually going to be pretty accurate.

The mechanics had more to do with timing and footwork and balance; it's all lower body getting his feet underneath him planting and throwing the football. He's going to fix that up pretty fast.

Throwing mechanics, shoulder posture, my drop ? little things like that. Right now in camp it still feels like I'm confined and working on stuff. My feeling is, hey, these guys know what they're talking about. I'm buying in 100 percent to what they're saying. Don't ask questions. Come September, your mechanics will be better, you'll be a more accurate passer, and because of that your team will be better.

Washington threw the kitchen sink at us as far as double-corner blitzes and different pressure packages. Chris was very quick in his decision-making process and very accurate in his throwing mechanics.

He hit all of his spots; I don't know how hard he was throwing, but his location was excellent. I thought he was locked in. His mechanics are so sound, he doesn't really have to work on anything except building his arm strength. Wherever I put the glove, he hit it.

He's just inconsistent with his rhythm and his mechanics. He's good enough to be there if he's throwing strikes. He's hurting himself by not throwing strikes.

He was throwing probably 225 feet and just flawless. But at the same time, he's not done weight-bearing things on the field and he's going to get itchy here pretty soon (to pitch) because his arm feels so good.

When I first started throwing [after returning from his torn scar tissue in his shoulder], I really screwed up my mechanics and my arm slot. I worked with Billy and he helped me get back in synch. Now, my mechanics are the best they've been in a while.

He's playing at a much better tempo. We've solved a lot of his problems with his footwork, which is making him throw the ball better. He's throwing the ball with more confidence. I like what I'm seeing.

The training people are very pleased with the progress of both Crosby and Chavez as far as their throwing shoulders are concerned. Chavez has been throwing a lot, and says he feels great. We don't make too many errors. Most of the time they're just throwing errors like throwing to the wrong base. That's what happens when people run on you. Sometimes errors are caused by throwing the ball too much.

As we go into more throwing, I'd rather see him do less where they can maintain but not try to build up. I think that's where you run into some problems. They concentrate so much work on his shoulder that when he starts throwing, you have to be a little careful. Throwing is what counts, not how many reps you can do with weights.
