He only threw 47 pitches (Friday) and we just wanted to get him out there one inning and maybe two if it went real easy for him. We wanted him to pitch. Sometimes it doesn't work the way you want.

Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

He had a rough inning the other day against Morris, and I wanted to get him back out there as soon as I could. He hit his spots and threw the pitches he wanted.

I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. I threw my pitches, I think I did pretty good. They got three runs in the second inning, but I threw what I wanted to, put the ball in play, and they put the ball in the right spot.

More preventative than anything else. We wanted to cut his pitch count down. Last time he threw a quite few pitches.

That's not what I wanted to do in my first start and my first inning. I was a little excited and just needed to get through that. I threw too many pitches and that killed me later in the game. I had nothing left at the end of the game.

I just wanted Emily to finish it up. She has a little more pitches and (Sam) was getting tired. She doesn't pitch as much.
