If we wanted to add on to it would be very expensive. We have to try to find a way to build a new facility. It's not much different from when we moved to this building back in the 1930s.

When you're adding those extra 5,000 seats, you have to build more ramps, more bathrooms, more plumbing, and it gets very expensive to build those extra seats. The number of times you sell the last 4,000 to 5,000 seats and the fact that they're going to be the less expensive seats, does not offset the cost of operating a larger facility.

I wanted to get away from big, expensive network projects, ... so I moved to New York and I did nothing. And then I discovered the Internet. I didn't think of it as a moneymaker -- I wrote stuff I thought my friends would find funny.

We really are trying to make a push toward life-cycle-cost analysis in new construction. In Alaska, the elements are hard on a building. If that isn't taken into consideration when you build the building, then the facility is not going to last.

It would be easier to go out and build anything in the world than it is (to build) churches. But to visit with pastors years later and find out (their congregations) have tripled in size because of the building you gave them, that's just extremely rewarding.

We really needed this new school building. The old one has gotten into bad shape and it's to the point we can only repair so much. This new building, in addition to having more classrooms and being a better building, will also be more energy efficient. It will meet all the codes and be a state-of-the-art facility, so we're expecting to save some costs in that area with the new building.

For the last few years, we've been totally jammed, there was no time for the teams to practice. Although the building looks like a big empty arena, indoor soccer fields are very expensive to build. If they cost $200,000, you'd see one on every corner.

The way unions are presently structured is often anachronistic. They don't want to recognize that the world has moved on. Management isn't treating employees like they were in the 1930s or '40s.

I went online and did some research to find a less expensive way to get what I wanted.

We have probably moved ahead of ourselves. The market is not expensive but it has moved quite forcibly upwards.
