I wish we were ordsprog

I wish we were scoring more points, but we are averaging more yards per game. We are moving in a direction away from our traditional offense into more of a spread option look.

If it doesn't (target Abel), then maybe they're not reading the papers because, when you see what she's averaging, I think everybody will know Vanessa Abel. She's put our school in the paper a lot this year and, even though she is the focal point, we're averaging 63.1 points scoring and we've done a nice job on offense.

I think we're on our way to being a great offense. But right now we're not scoring any points. That's the bottom line. You offense has to score points, no matter how many yards you get.

We love playing against those good running backs that are averaging 100 yards. We try to be prepared for that and ready for that every week. Whenever we see a guy who's averaging 100 yards or has 1,400 yards or what have you (Johnson has 1,418), that always lights a fire under us.

I don't know why they're criticized. They're averaging 30 points a game and almost 400 yards.

She's not getting as open of a look as she did last year. In the past she relied a lot on her scoring. Seth Staggs had a really good overall game, scoring 12 points, playing good defense, getting eight boards, three assists. Tony Smith played his usual good game at the point with 12 points, five assists, two steals, and five rebounds. We spread the ball nicely. We had four guys between nine and 19 points.

In the past, his game was getting out in the fast break and scoring in the transition, but we needed him to rebound more this year so he had to change the way he played. And when most teams keyed in on him and he drew the double team, it was a different game for him. But he still posted the numbers. At the end of the season, he was averaging 18 points and nine rebounds.

I'm hoping this is a coming out for (Brown). She's averaging 11 points per game but I feel like she should be averaging more.

I think we're going to run a couple of options, but I don't see us going out there and running 40 option plays in a game. We're still a spread offense, and we're going to throw it around.
