I thought Manny did ordsprog

I thought Manny did a good job and our guys did a real great job on the kill. Our specialty teams did a phenomenal job.

Chris has been a No. 1 goaltender wherever he's been while Manny has never been given that opportunity. In 2001, when they were teammates, Manny made a great case to be the next No. 1 guy, but we ended up signing Dominik Hasek and later Curtis Joseph . This is a great opportunity for both Manny and Chris, and they've had a good rapport in the past, so I'm sure it will be a healthy competition.

I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

The defensive (side) was phenomenal by both teams. It was a game played in mud. I just told the guys I thought they fought for the most part. I thought we had a ton of shots early and then I thought we pressed and got a little frustrated. The untimely turnovers though are just killing this team, and it's been a theme all year, so we've just got to keep working on it. I thought the team responded pretty well in the season opener, especially with the amount of specialty situations. We did a good job with our penalty kill tonight. Jeff made a couple of key saves late in the game to help us hold on for the win.

These two games were probably a lot bigger than even the guys realize. These were pretty big games. I don't think we played as well as we can play, but we did what we had to do to win. I thought our goaltending was very sharp when it had to be, and our specialty teams won (Saturday's) game for us.

It's just nice to kind of stop the bleeding in that area and finally put a zero up there. They didn't get a lot of second and third chances. We had a chance to clear the puck out from in front of the net, and Jimmy made some nice saves. Hopefully, we can play a little better on the penalty kill, because specialty teams now are huge in the success of teams.

I thought our specialty teams were real effective. I would have liked us to score in overtime. When you get your power play in overtime you have to score, and yet they didn't get it on theirs, either.

There are a lot of other great players in the tournament of course in addition to Manny, which is one of the reasons Manny would probably want to play, with the talent at that level. But I haven't spoken with Manny himself, and, in fact, I think I spoke to one of his representatives as late as yesterday and he hasn't ruled out playing. What he decides is really ultimately going to be up to him though.

The first time out there, that's hard to do what he did, ... You can tell he's a good athlete. He's got good feet, good speed, and he thinks he's real strong. If he can help the team, I think it's great, because there's some crazy guys on special teams.

We'll keep working on the things we need to work on -- specialty teams, the penalty kill, the power play, keep working on the system. But we need to take a day to get a break here.

That's what makes them so great. You can try to take away the pass or the run, and they'll kill you the other way. Then you adjust, and they kill you the other way. The toughest teams to prepare for are the ones that are able to balance a good run game with a good pass game.

Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. In the second half, we finished well. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post. We made a lot of good passes inside against their zone defense.

I thought those guys battled. They did some good things. Minnesota has a very good front. They've added a great nose tackle (Pat Williams) from Buffalo. ... I thought (our offensive line) handled the noise at times pretty good. I thought we had some careless errors - a couple of penalties, particularly in the second half - but those guys deserve a lot of credit.

This was just two good teams going at each other toe-to-toe. It was a great atmosphere, great excitement and great intensity. I thought both teams played extremely hard. I'm very happy for our kids and I'm very proud of them.
