Last year at the world championship, he was a high-end player, ... and that's against the best players.

We knew going into our discussions with the TOUR that NBC wanted to become an even bigger player in TOUR programming. We are delighted that we are doubling the number of TOUR events we'll cover. We'll be continuing our coverage of golf's Southern Swing in March and we are particularly excited to extend our relationship with THE PLAYERS Championship, which should have an even greater impact in its new May date. We're also excited about covering the final three weeks of the Championship Series, two World Golf Championships and The Presidents Cup, and the high level of competition and drama those events each embodies.

Overton being a top player is a no-brainer. He played at a real high level this year. She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first. He's not a real big rah-rah guy, just a quiet kid who went about his job. Championship teams are built upon guys like him. A lot of guys deserved it, but you can't go wrong with him as player of the year.

Last year at the World Championships, he was a high, high end player. It's not like it's a surprise to me.

There were a couple of players who were more responsible about it than others and I challenged them. I told them, 'Buy into the program or you don't play and how embarrassing would that be if you're sitting in the stands at the world junior championship and you're a good player?

This is a big event. This is not a major championship, but this is a World Golf Championship, and the best players in the world are here.

This tie presents a wonderful opportunity for us to play against truly world-class opposition and the world's best player Roger Federer. This will be a tough tie, but one that we are more than capable of getting a result from. We have a chance of playing in the World Group next year and I know the players are determined to give everything they have to try and make that a reality.

What we need is for each player to look at how Ike worked and progressed, ... He trusted our staff. He did the little things. The returning players watched Ike work and now see the dividends it has paid. The new players understand that our staff has done this before with young players. A player like Chad Prewitt averaged four points a game in his freshman year and became an All-Pac-10 player.

It's a great position for us to be in. It's an honor to be able to play for a Pac-10 championship. I'm happy for our players that they're going to have the opportunity to fight for the championship. That's what you dream of as a player and as a coach.

This year's player field will feature some of the most talented players in the world. Patty and Nadia are two exciting players to watch, and over the years, they have both enjoyed great success here at the Family Circle Cup.

I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

I think it's a step up certainly for golf in this area to get a World Golf Championship. You know, guys will move out of the top and new guys will take their place. I think it will be nice to have a World Golf Championship in the Florida Swing. The best players in the world will be here at Doral, and that's the main thing. It will give guys an incentive to make it here.

Here's what I think specifically. I think that [White Sox World Series] championship, more than anything else, was a players' championship.

Last year at the world championships, he was a high-end player. He buried some guys at the world championships because he's a really strong kid, who is also a good skater.

My motivation is very high. I am very pleased to be with a great team like Renault, the world champions. Also, I know I am driving a very quick car this year. My target is to fight for the championship, and I am optimistic I can do that.
