Teams can get off to bad starts and end up in the playoffs at the end, ... So what's that about?

We beat those same teams, and we blew them out. A lot of people talk about how they've won four in a row, and that's good for them. But we beat those teams, too. I don't think that has anything to do with the playoffs. It's about who starts fast in this game and who makes the plays.

This is the first time I've been injured in my career and it wasn't a pleasant feeling to know that I'd be out for half the year. Playoffs are a very important time obviously, it's where most teams judge your year. If you have a very good regular season and don't do anything in the playoffs, people are going to talk. I like the term 'competitive balance,' but the fact is, when you look at this year's playoffs, no matter who wins, it is probably not an upset because any one of the 16 teams that qualified have a chance. The regular season was exciting. There were 24 teams in the hunt until just about the end. Then, when you look at these series, the playoffs are off to a strong start.

We win those games and we gain confidence going into the playoffs. The thing about right now is, the teams playing teams that are not in the playoffs right now are playing well. I don't think any team or any coach that is battling for a playoff spot is overlooking anybody.

Everybody seems to want to take away from accomplishments. The fact all five teams made it is a testament to each of those teams. Cleveland and us weren't in the playoffs last year, and the fact we jumped into the playoffs shows you even more about the division.

That's only going to make us better. Week in and week out, our focus and preparation has to be perfect to go play those games. I think we're definitely up to the challenge. A lot of those teams are teams that are perennially in the playoffs. Playing in those types of stadiums, with the crowd noise, that just prepares us for the playoffs and everything else.

The way I look at it, every game is a playoff game from here on out, ... It starts [tonight] against Connecticut. Every one of these teams will be fighting to make the playoffs, so we have to play like a playoff team.

At the end of the year for other teams it's all about beating us. We are focusing on what we need to do in the playoffs, and other teams are trying to get into the playoffs.

We have a lot of good teams in front of us and these teams could make the playoffs. If we don't do well in those games, we could very well be watching the playoffs at the end of the year. We have a lot of work in front of us.

If a big call is made in the last 30 seconds or five minutes of a game, if there's a call made that keeps a team out of the playoffs or knocks them out of the first round, and it starts costing teams money, that'll be the litmus test,

Right now, it doesn't matter who we play [in the playoffs]. It's more how we go in and how we play once it starts. We see tonight how we came out in the first period. If that happens in the playoffs, it's going to hurt us.

We can't watch how the other teams are playing. We can't expect to get any help from other teams because it's not just one team we're trying to catch. There are a couple of teams between us and the playoffs.

There are times you go through the season and, I'll say it, it starts dragging a little. The playoffs, every game, every shift means more. It always means something, don't get me wrong, but in the playoffs it just means more.
