But now the kid has just completely dedicated himself to the weight room. He put on 15-20 pounds of muscle, got after it and did an incredible job of doing what Bryce did when he was here. He's not necessarily walking in Bryce's footsteps, but he's got something to uphold here. He's coachable, he listens and he really works hard. I think that combination is going to make him successful.

en Bryce has been really, really good at times and sometimes not so good. He's been kind of inconsistent by his standards. Now, at the end of the season, he's starting to improve and play like he was last year.

en Jake did a phenomenal job. Got ahead of hitters, made them hit his pitches and our defense played very well behind him ? typical early-season game where pitchers are dominant. We were very fortunate to get this win.

en I feel pretty fortunate to win that. Our defense played well for pretty much the whole game. We had a little mental error in the last 20 seconds. But offensively, we were just sloppy. You don't get to win many of those, with those kind of mistakes. So I would consider ourselves fortunate today.
