We need to score more runs. Last season, we struggled offensively and it hurt us in the end.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

(Capuano) just struggled all day. He could never get it going. We had too many walks all day. We ended up with nine. When a team has been struggling to score runs a little bit like they have, you can't help them out by putting runners on. Then it only takes one hit instead of three to score a run. That was evident in the first inning.

I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. We've gone through some times this year where we haven't had some guys produce a whole lot of runs. There's a reason we rank where we are, offensively. I know there weren't a lot of monster years put up, but it seems like this is a good baseball team, and we can score some runs. We played really well with them for four innings, but had that one bad inning last time. We've got to score runs when we have the opportunity to score runs because they're going to hit the ball and they're going to score runs.
