en We realized that when he had pressure he got scared with the ball. He'd throw it real fast. The defense stepped it up a lot. That's why I have to really give congrats to the D line. They stepped it up a whole lot. We were able to get pressure on him and he started getting it off faster and started throwing interceptions.

en We knew that Jewell did a good job running with the football and that is was big for us to stay on our keys. But we were able to get pressure up front. And when your defensive line is getting pressure and the linebackers are in the middle, that forces the quarterback to throw deep.

en Coming out I was a little shaky and a little nervous. The ball was a little hard, but I got into the flow of things and started to feel more comfortable. en Because he's such a great pass rusher, teams are going to slide their line to try and protect [the quarterback]. In this defense, you can't display your protection right away because you don't know where he's coming from. It constantly makes those [offensive linemen] check at the line because they have no idea where he's going to line up.

en It was a back-and-forth game, and I'm very pleased with the way our team played. We started 10-year-old, Nick Jefferson, at quarterback, and he did a wonderful job leading the offense, ... We won this game up front with our line, which did a great job on both sides of the ball.

en It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.
