The only way we can build any momentum is by stopping getting beaten and we've done that. I know it was a home game and everyone will say it was a game we should win. Maybe had we been on 16 or 17 points and flying we might have done but we're struggling like hell. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense. We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

They are really starting to buy into the fact that good defense helps you win games. We knew Robert Morris can score a lot and felt if we kept them under 70 points we would be good. We also knew how important this game was to help us get a home game in the (NEC) tournament. Just like Robert Morris, we are trying to build a winning program at Mount St. Mary's.

I think a repeat performance of Saturday would be good. Our 1-2-2 zone held them for most of the game. We need to do a better job of stopping (Laura) Mount on the dribble drive. Offensively, we need to keep the tempo up. It needs to be a transition game.

[Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.

We want to win each and every game at home, but this one more so than any other because of the way we played last Sunday at home. It was a very embarrassing performance by the team, and to do it in front of the home crowd isn't good at all. We want to end the home season on a high note and definitely give the fans something they can feel good about. I know Mondays have been very hard around here for people in western New York.

The big points in the game were when we scored, I needed to go out and shut them out and I didn't. The [Weeks] home run gave them too much momentum. There's no doubt about that. Brad [Ausmus] and I had total control of the game until that home run.

For the past two years, we hadn't beaten Bonner, and this was the last home game that (us seniors are) going to have. There was a little animosity between us and Bonner. It felt good that we finally finished a game. It seems like every close game we've had, we've lost.

We were saying after the game on the bench that it was huge because we wanted to build some momentum going into the playoffs. It was very important not so much to win by such a large margin, but to have such a (good) game.

Normally, when you win a football game and you really feel good about it flying home, you look at tapes and it's not quite as good as you thought it was,

Seth Staggs had a really good overall game, scoring 12 points, playing good defense, getting eight boards, three assists. Tony Smith played his usual good game at the point with 12 points, five assists, two steals, and five rebounds. We spread the ball nicely. We had four guys between nine and 19 points.

Frank is a massively intelligent man. It's difficult to sum up but he can watch a game in which we are beaten by 60 points and tell us to one or two things differently and make us win a game. He is so good at pinpointing what the most important things are.

It's a good feeling to be at home and it's a good feeling to get a win. Four to six weeks ago, we probably wouldn't have won this game, but we're coming together as a team. It was better for us to battle back and win this game than to win by 12 to 15 points.

We were able to pick up a full game on the team right in front of us. I think it is important that the guys go home with a good game under their belt. Maybe we will have a little momentum coming out of the break.

I am happy the first game in the group stages is at home. Everybody will be up for it with us not having Champions League football for two years. So if we get three points in the first game, then we are away to Milan and you never know what's going to happen over there. Then we've got Artmedia at home in the third game. We could have six or seven points from the first three games.
