en I was sitting in a gym, and he started banging in threes. I saw him in the Augusta Peach Jam. A lot of people questioned why we recruited him. A lot of people told Tyler that he wouldn't be able to play here. A couple of other coaches when he committed made comments like 'Don't call us when you transfer because you won't play there.' I was confident that he was a good player.

en When I was sitting out, I learned how to keep my head up and try and help my teammates in practice knowing that I couldn't play. That was really tough and I'm happy I got over that and am getting set to play my last few games. It made me appreciate everything that Florida State did for me in the three years I've been here. en A lot of people that don't get an opportunity to see him play, they just look at the scoring leaders and say he's just an offensive player. But Tyler is not afraid to go make hits, he's a terrific face-off man, he's a good penalty-killer.

en I think of myself as a second-year player. Then again, I didn't play much quarterback at all last year. Am I a second- or first-year player? I don't know how the coaches view me, but I expect a lot of myself. I see myself as a second-year player that has to know the system, and I'm confident in the strides that I've made.

en On this team, he's going to play most of the time until he shows that he can't. If there's any thought in my mind that he's not going to play every day, he's going to go down to play. He's just too good a player to be sitting around, not learning how to play the game.

en I just told the first-base umpire that he made his call a little too quick. It was a close, bang-bang play, and we all saw that the call was not the right decision. I just told the guy to let the play develop a little bit longer before calling him out or safe.

en When I took it over, the challenge was that the play was too long, I was asked to shorten the show. That's not an easy thing to do when people have been doing it for 50 years. You have to understand, we have 400 people that volunteer their time up here and any changes I institute wouldn't happen if they didn't stand behind what we were doing. In fact, a lot of the revisions we've made have been at the suggestion of the people who are involved in the play.

en It helps that they're going well. We were making good plays, spreading the ice pretty well. I didn't want to hold back. I told the coaches that when I come back I want to play, I don't just want to go out there and play a couple of shifts and try to work into it.

en Tyler is a good player. He isn't going to have a night like this again. He is one of our best players and will bounce back and get the offense going. I know him, and he'll be in the office at 6 a. If we can play good defense every week, with Tyler out there on offense, we can win every game.

en I'd seen him play a couple of times and he's a good player. He hasn't made any mistakes early on in the rally, so I had to play five or six shots to win most of them.

en If he can keep making the progress that he has made and the trainers give him the OK, then it will be up to Kam if he wants to play. Even as coaches, we don't want him to play if he's not comfortable and confident on his knee.

en I made it. There's a lot of people from the Dominican Republic that don't get this chance. Maybe a couple of guys will play baseball in the major leagues. Not a lot of people get to play football. With this sport I can take care of my family.

en It's a play we added because we knew we were facing a dominant defense. I told our coaches to try to figure out a way to win the football game. I think it was a tremendous play call. ... But just like anything else, you've got to execute.
